[Has anyone seen Lightning in the last week or so? Probably not: she's been training. From what the camera shows, she didn't heal herself or let others heal her at all, either--she's bandaged in a number of places, and her battle with one of the mannequins left a still-healing gash diagonal across one eye. Her voice is quiet at first, as if she's ( Read more... )

You're still injured. Please, let me help you.

Help me by training, becoming proficient in offensive combat as well as defensive.

If enough people do this, we won't lose again.

[Rosa is somewhat perplexed by Lightning's reply. She's an adept enough archer for times when her magic is not required, but her strength lies in the support role. However, it is not in her nature to be argumentative especially over minor details.]

You cannot fight at your full strength with injuries. My part is to keep the fighters whole and able to continue on.

[That's a fair answer, but at the same time, a battle style she's unused to dealing with. She herself can use healing magic, but she can also use Ravager (offensive) magic, besides fighting entirely hand-to-hand/weapon-to-weapon.]

By the time the next fight comes, they'll heal. And if they haven't? Well... I know a kid who's been itching to patch them up since I got them.

Training is a good idea...but are you sure you don't want healing?

It'll heal on its own.

And besides--without a little pain, it's too easy to forget there's a war going on.

Well, if that's the way you can best deal with it....

[Not healing someone goes against her nature, but it's not like she's right there to do it.]

...I will be training.

Hey-... Thanks, though. For the offer.

Light... let me help. [There's a look of concern, and also of understanding. He doesn't want her to beat herself up for their failures, but he gets how she's frustrated for losing.]

If you won't heal, then let me teach Serah. I can at least do that.

Ravager skills?

[Don't mind that look she's giving. She knows you just want to help, and she appreciates it, even if she won't say it. And if she didn't like the idea, she would've said 'no' right off the bat.]

[He nods. In a way, he knows that's her kind of talk saying that she's thankful, even a little. It means something to him.]

Yeah. I'll teach her the basics, and when she gets that, we can go onto harder stuff.

I'm going to be there too, of course.

Hmph, it's no wonder your side lost if everyone for Cosmos shares your poor attitude. God or not, how can you know he can't be defeated until someone tries?

If you can point me to a single person strong enough to even consider contesting one of the gods, please do.

A single person? No, I doubt even the likes of myself could take down a god that easily.

A group? Much more likely. And wouldn't it be better to test that theory of invincibility rather than take that pathetic attitude of assuming that it is so?

Personally, I'd rather go out fighting than just act as a silly little pawn.

There aren't enough of us. Not yet, at least.

Sometimes it's best to play the pawn so they don't expect the strike.

[It takes her a moment to reply, after seeing the state Lightning's in- and she wants to say something about how nearly killing herself isn't going to make her any stronger but...

The last thing she wants right now is to get into an argument with Lightning.]

Right. I'll be there.

[After she shuts down her crystal, she takes as much time as she can getting ready- making sure she's got her weapon with her in case Lightning wants to help her train with that too, a couple of healing items for Lightning... It doesn't take as long as she'd hoped, however, so she's still early when she finally makes her way outside, hand to her chest apprehensively.]

...before we start... [She holds out a small bottle.] Here. I didn't get hurt as much as you, and I haven't gone and made it worse, so...

[As always, she's glad to see Serah, but it takes her sister offering the bottle for her lips to quirk in a slight smile of gratitude.] Keep it. One of the others pointed out that this would be good practice for Hope--he hasn't had much chance to practice his Medic skills in a while.

[She tilts her head just slightly.]

He offered to show you a few things. Mostly Ravager magic, maybe some Synergist skills.

[Mainly, she wanted to know if Serah was alright with that. She was getting taught either way, so that wasn't the question.]
