Meanwhile, Saleh was trying his best to avoid the battles, at least until he found an ally from Cosmos to cover him. He was also keeping an eye out for the tiles that Cosmos spoke of. He was unaware of the cloudy mist floating around so far...

It was an enemy. And he was alone, too. It would be easy to incinerate him now, but he would much rather drink this victim's blood, to strengthen himself for the next battle.

Moving behind Saleh, he rematerialized silently, and reached forward to try to cut open Saleh's neck with one of his nails.

Saleh gasped as he suddenly felt the sharp pain in the side of his neck. He dashed forward a few feet before spinning around to face the vampire. It was obvious which side this person was from.

"You're with Chaos..."

Dracula stood tall, glaring at Saleh.

"And you must be with Cosmos," he replied. "I am known as Lord Dracula."

Saleh kept his gaze on his opponent, gripping both ends of his staff in a defensive stance. The first thing on his mind was running and searching for help, but doubted that he could really get away. Dracula didn't look much like a physical fighter, so perhaps the sage would be able to make a stand here.

"I am called Saleh."

"There is no need for further discussion. We both know we are enemies, let us simply end this quickly."

Dracula lifted open his cloak, and three fireballs shot from the lining toward Saleh.

Saleh agreed wholeheartedly that there was no need for words. He dashed aside to avoid the fireballs, grabbing his Divine tome. Once he regained his footing, he extended his open hand; a large ball of light rose vertically from where he stood, and then came down directly above Dracula.

Light was something Dracula knew to avoid. Quickly, he teleported, reappearing several feet away. Then, with a quick gesture, he summoned a pillar of fire below Saleh.

Saleh's heart jumped as the vampire teleported. He didn't have time to react as the fire erupted below him. He cried out as he threw himself out of the way, crashing on the ground, and rolling to put out any flames that clung to his clothing.

He stood up to face Dracula again, hesitating this time. This opponent had a teleporting ability, which gave him a significant advantage. This was already looking bad.

Dracula raised both of his hands, and looked up dramatically. As he spoke his body seemed to come apart, transforming into a company of bats.

"Do you really believe you can stand against the Lord of Darkness?"

The bats attempted to swarm Saleh, biting at him from all angles.

As the bats swarmed him, Saleh brought his arms over his face to shield himself. Which was quickly proving to be ineffective, so he switched tomes, bringing out the sacred Excalibur tome. As he stretched out his arm, a large crescent of green energy formed in front of them, then shattered into smaller crescents which swirled chaotically around him, slicing at the bats.

The crescents hit many of the bats, which vanished like shadows as soon as they were hit. Even those that weren't hit broke away, and rejoined several feet away, turning back into Dracula.

For a moment, a look of pain was visible on his face, but it was gone in an instant as, with a wave of his hand, Dracula sent a trail of rocks bursting from the ground toward Saleh.

What is he?

Saleh wondered this briefly as the bats rematerialized into Dracula. As the rocks came at him, he made yet another dash step to avoid them. Once again, he switched spells, bringing out the Thunder tome. He thrust his hand forward, calling a bolt of lightning to attempt to strike his opponent.

Suddenly, Dracula realized what those tomes were. Just as with Belnades, they were the source of his power. In other words, if he watched which tome Saleh drew, he could predict his foe's attacks.

The bolt struck him painfully, but he quickly teleported behind Saleh, and fired a sphere of lava from the lining of his cloak.

Saleh could feel the heat behind him as he spun around. Lava was bad news, so he moved to avoid it. He watched as the lava splashed onto the ground, reducing it to ashes and smoke.

Instead of attacking again, he faced Dracula, analyzing this situation. The sage had done some damage, but the vampire showed no signs of weakening. And he already knew that he wouldn't be able to endure such attacks that the vampire had thrown so far. He may have no choice but to flee, but would Dracula let him?

A pause in the attack? Perhaps Saleh's resolve was weakening. If that was the case, maybe it was time for Dracula to implement one of his more subtle powers. Someone with so much holy power was a rarity. He could make a powerful ally.

"You must see now that winning is hopeless," Dracula said. "Why not abandon your Goddess instead? You did not ask to fight for her, she demanded you lay down your life, and gave you no choice. However, I will give you a choice. Just as she offers you death, I will offer you life. Join us, and I will give you immortality."
