Victoria's day wasn't going as planned. She thought her day was going to be pleasant, wonderful even though the moment she woke up bad luck struck. Her alarm clock didn't go off until she woke up thirty minutes before her class started. Apparently her clock couldn't tell the difference between AM and PM. The poor girl literally jumped out of ( Read more... )

Lilo had finished with her morning classes and had a while until an afternoon one. She decided to eat her lunch outside, and carried her pizza and soda out into the quad.

She was lucky she didn't drop it when she saw a familiar face. "Victoria?"

"I wonder if they'd still taste good." She cocked her head to the side, debating. She figured they'd at least taste stale, and well, even stale girl scout cookies were still pretty good. "When they come for us, just remind me not to eat the cookies." She blinked at her friend, motioning to the half eaten pizza. "Are you sure?"

Laughing a little as she munched on the rest of the pizza, shaking her head. "Oh, no, this is way more boring. That would at least not require me to take notes." She made it sound as if notes were the enemy.

She had to think. "Not up to much. Stitch is my roommate, but I've been spending a lot of time at other dorms - friends and stuff - " She cut herself off mid-sentence, knowing she was blushing violently. But thinking of Myrtle made her flail a little. "No! Don't talk about her, she'll hear us and come!"

Who liked taking notes anyway? They were evil! Especially if the professors talked super fast...or if you started zoning out in the middle of it right when important information was given. That's why Victoria preferred to have a tape recorder on hand. Take all the "notes" she wanted (more like doodle) while the professor droned on and on.

Victoria raised an eyebrow at her best friend. Oh? Other dorms? Boyfriend? Or...slaves? The thought wandered into her head before she started to laugh a little.

"I think for her to come we'd have to summon her like Bloody Mary." she teased, though in reality if Mrytle were here...she would also have her little posse around and Lord knows how long until either she or Lilo would throw water balloons at them.

"But back to the other dorms....exactly who's? Hmmm?"

Lilo's notes were very colorful, she used a lot of different pens, and most of her teachers thought she was color coding her comments. Really, she was just making her sketches look better. She liked shading.

"Well, we've already said her name once!" She flailed a little bit, shaking her head. "Then again, I doubt she'd notice. She'd convert a sorority to her brainless minions. ... like zombies!" She shook her head incredulously. "She'd take over the world. We don't need that."

She'd thought she'd gotten away with changing the subject, but when Victoria brought it back up, she laughed nervously. "Um, my boyfriend's."

"...yeah if that happens, you grab the shot gun and I'll grab the car," That would be the apocalypse having Myrtle take over the world with her zombie minions. Seriously, that girl was mean to the bone. At one point Victoria thought it was because the girl was lonely ...and spoiled. But it was only the latter, not the former.

Victoria grinned at the word boyfriend. "Ohhhh," she said, leaning in, her eyes sparkling with interest.

"So what's his name? What's he like? Height, weight, eye color, any tattoos like you? Does he have all his limbs and kidneys? Does he have a secret identity? Come on, I need the details," she teased. The last time she heard Lilo had a boyfriend the relationship didn't last long. Victoria wanted to make sure this guy was the real deal.

"I'm not a terrible shot, this is a good thing." Lilo didn't really like thinking of Myrtle. She still got itchy to beat the girl's face in, and she hadn't seen her since arriving at school. But she would, if given half a second.

"His name is Max, he's a little taller than me, on the skinny side, brown, no tattoos, all limbs and kidneys and even a great cardiovascular system, no secret identity, and he's helping teach me how to skateboard." She shrugged and felt a bit sheepish.

"Maybe while we're at it, we could run down her minions too..." the thought alone made Victoria smile. If Myrtle tried to start something she knew Lilo would finish it. While she....well, Victoria would watch and make sure no one tried to jump Lilo then if someone came she would try to yank her best friend off and run like the wind.

The brunette grinned. She far she liked what she was hearing about this Max guy. "Nice. Wait, you sure he's not an axe murder?" It never hurt to cover all the bases. Especially when it came to guys.

"Oh! Which reminds me. You have Stitch here and I have Snotty! If you want we can have a sleep over at my apartment! Movie marathon?"

"We'd be doing the world a favor, really." Lilo almost missed beating Myrtle up. It had been cathartic, and it wasn't as if the little snot hadn't had it coming every single time.

"Nope, not an axe murderer. He's really sweet, and we have a lot of the same movies and he likes Elvis. Not as much as me, but who does?" She was used to that, but it was nice that Max actually hummed along to some of the songs.

"Snotty? That's awesome, yes, we need to do that. I'll make the snacks!"

"Snacks? Awesome! Can you bring your Aunt Pleakey's famous lemonade?" It would be great if they could watch movies and change colors. And if they were having a movie marathon...

"I'll buy poker cards and chips for Snotty and Stitch. Didn't they play poker or goldfish last time?" It seems Stitch and his cousins were always playing one game or another when they got together. It was cute in a way. An idea soon struck Victoria's mind. It was a risky one though...

"If you want you can bring Max over too." Might as well meet the guy, though that would make her something of a third wheel. Though it would be a good time to see if he's right for Lilo.

"Of course, I know the secret ingredient!" Thinking about what Snotty and Stitch had played, she squinted in thought. "I'm not sure, maybe it was a little bit of both?"

Blinking and going wide-eyed at Victoria's idea, she shook her head. "Maybe next time, but we need our own time to catch up."

Victoria tried to not let her grin grow. So no Max! Perfect! Well..she didn't mind having him, but Lilo was right. They needed to catch up big time.

"Alright. So what else should I get? Chocolate? Gummy worms? Oh, you'll have to bring your records! We can play them as loud as we want!" Screw if it the neighbors banged on her door.

"Any preferences for movies?"

Lilo smiled. "Max and I are going to drive to the beach this weekend, when I get back we can all three hang out, but you and I get girl time first." Lilo wanted some solo time with her best friend.

"Yes!" That was all of the above. "Hmm, movies. Old, bad sci-fi?"

Aww, they were going to drive to the beach together? Wait, there's a beach? Huh, go figure. Maybe sometime later in the week she could go there. It would be nice to see the ocean again.

"Classics? Awesome! We'll start with the black and white ones then move up to the eighties." Who didn't like watching horribly acted movies that had people in bad hair?

"Oh. How's your sister? I'm sorry again for getting her in trouble with my mom when I tried to run away..." Though it seemed like a good idea at the time. Running away to live with her best friend seemed so great compared to moving away from her. Though Victoria's mom soon found her daughter. It was never a good idea to shout 'I'M RUNNING AWAY TO LILO'S!!' to the world and not expect anyone to find you.

"Exactly! All of the bad rubber monsters we can shake sticks at! Why do people say that? Was there some old guy that shook sticks at lots of things?"

At the mention of Nani, Lilo's smile softened. "We all understood why you did what you did. I'd have done it too if I'd had to move." Of course, leaving Hawaii had hurt her all on its own, much less leaving her family. She'd felt badly for Victoria.

"Either that or there was always that one woman they did a close up on as she screams. You know they do that in every movie! Like Transformers! They had a close up this one girl screaming in slow motion!" Why was it she was better at remembering interesting parts of a movie than remembering historical events?

"Think I should've picked a better hiding spot than the kitchen cabinet?" she joked. It felt good to laugh about the old times...though she still did miss Hawaii. Nevada...was okay, but it wasn't the right place for her.

"I always wanted to audition for a part like that. I'm actually going to be in a play thing on campus here soon, I think, I still have to get that hammered down. Phineas helped." She grinned. "It's about some of the old Hawaiian myths, you should help! You're prettier than I am, you'd make a way better princess."

Thinking about good hiding spots in her childhood home, she shook her head. "I was always sorry I stopped fitting in the dryer."
