010 - [Action, OTA]

[The library has been missing a statue during the day, as Goliath has found a new building to sleep on. In the early evening he returns, browsing the shelves and assembling quite a pile of research - mostly having to do with the fair folk, when they do not have something to do with the Seven Deserts ( Read more... )

Beautiful, isn't it?

[Came familiarly smooth and confident voice. He appeared in front of Goliath, his head tilted as he gazed down at the page of his Castle.]

The texts are woefully outdated. They only tell the history of Destane's rule. Shame, isn't it? [Something about his tone implied that he didn't mind -- Especially with the Gargoyle poking around for information.]

Of course if you're curious about my many weaknesses, I'm sure we can come to some sort of arrangement. [The sarcasm was thick, yet cheerful-sounding.]

I prefer mine.

[He snaps the book shut, displeased at the interruption by one he would like to, but cannot presently, bring to justice. But the more Mozenrath hangs around Goliath, the more chances Goliath has to catch him in a mis-step, so this is not a confrontation to turn away from.]

Of course, if you would like to air your weaknesses, I know many who will listen.

Oh? Well then, who am I to disappoint an audience.

[He rubbed at his chin, casting his gaze upwards as he pretended to think.]

I'm a sucker for those tropical drinks with the little umbrellas in them. Oh, those films with a couple overcoming adversity so they can live happily ever after? I cry every time. [He mock-sniffed.]

Beautiful sunsets, fluffy kittens... heart-shaped chocolates. Oh, I can't continue... my heart is fluttering far too much.

Amusing.

[By the look on his face, smiling would crack it.]

Is there something I can help you with?

[Maybe by delivering his eulogy? If you're gonna have one, it might as be delivered by someone with an awesome voice, amiright?]

[This face. Clopin can you not see he is reading? Gosh.]

I am busy at present. What do you want?

I apologized to your woman.
[and now I'm here to bother you. GOSH, GOLIATH.]

She is her own woman, not mine.

[Okay so, in a romantic sense, she is now. But they're keeping that on the down-low. AND LOOK WHAT A GOOD JOB THEY'RE DOING.]

But I am glad that you took the time to pay her respect.

[Surprisingly, the Weird Sisters aren't in the library to bother Goliath - they're taking out a stack of scientific journals from the last two years. It's amazing how much effort it takes to keep up with new technology.

Still, even if they didn't come there to bother Goliath, all the research he's doing does catch their attention. Particularly the research that pertains to their kind.]

Are you doing some light reading?

ny_nightguard March 14 2011, 12:42:25 UTC
It is not light. And it does not have to do with you.

[He does not say this rudely - more to put them at ease, if that is what they wish for. The sisters are surely a worthy subject of research, but they have not been Goliath's enemies since Avalon, and do not owe him anything (that he knows of). To dig into their past would seem intrusive, for the time being.]

Does it pertain to our brother?

[Not that there was any lost love between them and Puck, but whether they cared to admit to it or not, they had been concerned for his well being during the Mist attack.]

Yes.

[He sees no reason not to tell them. After all, research is research.]

He offered me a boon. This is an aspect of his working I am not familiar with.

[He's much more familiar with Puck as the unhelpful trickster, not Puck the granter of favors. He doesn't trust the two not to cross over.]

[ Holy friggin' Zeus. You're...subtle. ]

You need help there...?

[Yeah he kind of sticks out.]

Thank you but I am finding what I need easily.

[There's more lore regarding Puck in this library than there is regarding Mozenrath, who seems to be too recent. Still, he came here to research deals with the fair folk more than to research the sorcerer.]

Do you work here?

theonewoman March 14 2011, 22:38:23 UTC
Might as well, I'm in here enough.

What're you looking for exactly?

Folk tales and lore, concerning a fellow professor.

[He's leafing through books about the Old Kingdom, particularly regarding the Fair Folk, so that could mean Puck, or any one of the sisters.]

I come here frequently, but I do not think I have seen you before.

[She hasn't flipped out completely at seeing him, which is a point in her favor where Goliath is concerned.]

[What is she doing in a library? Bet she doesn't know either. She was just walking - HOLY F*CK! It's a reading... statue-ish... looking...thing?

Shego didn't make a sound and for now, she just stares. Talking about having seen a lot of weird stuff in her life...]

THE PARTY DIDN'T START WITHOUT YOU, BB. ny_nightguard March 15 2011, 01:19:35 UTC
[It could be a statue in the dim light, if it weren't for the occasional shifting of wings and careful turning of pages with large, clawed hands.

It looks more like a flesh-and-blood version of something that would be carved in stone on a building somewhere, and in fact, there's a statue on the roof of Joe West normally that looks pretty much exactly like this guy, whatever he is. Only it changes position every day. Weird, right?

At some point, Goliath either hears or senses something, because he looks up from his book and glances around until he catches sight of Shego. His natural frown deepens as he looks at her and her greenish pallor, wondering as she probably is of him what she is.]

[She tries to conceal her shock/surprise a little.
Oh damn, the person was frowning at her. And some unknown being of his size is a little intimidating, especially when frowning. She raises and eyebrow, half convincing herself that she has seen weirder. Well, she has had a few encounters with aliens before...

I guess it would be the right time to show some form of politeness.

She doesn't think so.]

Alright, what are you?

A gargoyle.

[Compared to screaming and shooting, this IS polite.]

And yourself?
