[Lilo was unresponsive to the noise around her. The only way she could cope was to stay absolutely still and quiet, clinging to the bandanna that Jack had given her and the photoalbum she had brought with her ( Read more... )

[Mulan sat huddled in Kuzco's poncho near one of the doors of the bunkers. The noise was enough to make her jump when it first rang out, she did NOT like how that sounded... she also didn't like the fact that Kuzco was on the other side.... he had other people with him, true, but he wouldn't do all that well by himself.

She drew her arms around herself and leaned back against the damp wall, surveying everyone around. It was harder to keep some of the memories and images at bay now, with out someone to constantly distract her, with the mist bearing down upon them from directly above... but she could manage.

She would have to.]

[ooc: Mulan is like eric. Considering she's been through a few of her own greatest fears and the fact that she had a successful rescue, she's pretty sane and will be able to hold a decent convo unless you aggravate her Which isn't a lot of people :B. So feel free to bug]

[Mulan looked up at the familiar face and managed a smile]

Jade. It's good to see you.

[She made room against the wall for her to sit down if she wanted]

[Jade sets down her backpack and sits down next to the woman she regarded as a hero...Expect Mulan doesn't seem as heroic and brave as she usually was.]

Hey, are you okay?

[Aisling had been sitting off to one side, leaning against one of her wolves for comfort. But then she heard that noise, and all of a sudden she was gripped by fear and paranoia. The hallucinations that she had tried to keep at bay for the last few days became stronger.

Crom Cruach was here. She could feel it. It was waiting somewhere in here, waiting to snatch her up like it had done to her mother, to the rest of her people, no matter how many arrows they fired at it or how many times they slashed at it with their blades. She could feel its presence all around her. And its darkness would spread.

She clutches at her head and whimpers. The voices tell her that her mother is gone, and she'll be next. She has no family. She's all alone. The only thing left is Crom Cruach, waiting for her in the darkness.]

The Dark One...

The darkness is outside.

[The Mist has brought on enough humanity in her to remember the way Molly spoke to her when she was changed the first time.

Her tone is low, almost a lulling sound, and she sits beside Aisling, reaching to touch her shoulder. Amalthea knows little about offering any real comfort, but this is her attempt as she tries to think of Molly and what that woman would do.]

It is not here.

[Aisling can only vaguely make out Amalthea's words, but they're mostly drowned out by the voices in her brain. She shakes her head frantically.]

No, it's here, it's everywhere...it's waiting in the darkness...it's waiting for someone to awaken it...

Then let it sleep.

[She pulls the small girl a little closer. Molly had held her still while she'd shouted, clawed at herself.

Perhaps bringing the fairy closer would help?]

It will stay asleep.

[Now, guys let's be straight. Chel is not the worry type. Neither does she become hysterical or cry except for that one time. And she certainly doesn't agonize over her boyfriend in danger.

Nope. Definitely not.

She paces across the bunker, picking at her split ends.]

I feel so ... useless.

...these two need to be friends. It would be so weird. alwaysaxefirst January 14 2011, 01:20:18 UTC
[Hiccup, Dave and Jim are in the other bunkers. The Lieutenant is above ground. There a only a few people she knows fairly well here, and it's not calming her nerves at all. More than anything, she just wants to get above ground.]

The feeling is beyong mutual. [She doesn't know why she spoke up, maybe it's just the fact that some part of her really doesn't want to be alone right now.]

[Lucky for Astrid, Chel doesn't like to be alone either.]

Do I know you?

[But she doesn't like her personal space to be invaded either.]

Nup. [She raises an eyebrow.] If it annoys you to talk to me, I can easily and happily just go away. Trust me.

[It starts at the very end of her hair. At first, Rapunzel doesn't even notice. There's a horrible, deafening noise in the air and she has her hands clapped over her ears, so she misses the soft hissing to her immediate left. It's Pascal who notices it first, being the one sitting amongst the long locks of her hair. And when he does, he scrambles up onto Rapunzel's shoulder squeaking in a panic, pressing his head against her neck and pointing back to where he'd come from. Rapunzel first looks at him, and then to where he's pointing... and then her eyes widen and her face pales, the freckles across her nose becoming more pronounced.]

Wha... How[All of her hair is turning brown. Slowly but surely, the gold is melting away in place of a chocolatey brown, and instantly Rapunzel is thrown into a full blown panic. It's only supposed to turn brown when it gets cut. But no one had come close enough to her to cut it, even by accident ( ... )

[ So much for the moment of calm, cool and collected Gothel. The voices had become so easy to ignore, after all, all they did were call her unfathomable names, like ugly, old crone and kidnapper. Well. The last one irked her just a bit, more than others. She'd left Rapunzel only what seemed like a moment ago to use the young ladies room. She'd washed her hands and took a good look at herself in the mirror.

What stared back at her struck horror into her very core.

To put it simply, she was old. She was her true age, something along the lines of the oldest human being alive. Proof that dinosaurs once roamed the earth. Her face was pasty and her skin was worn thin with age. She looked to her hands. Bony and frail. It continued on, becoming worse and worse the more that she panicked.

Rapunzel.

Cracking the door to the bathroom open, she peered out down the way, silver hair making her somewhat unrecognizable. What was even more unrecognizable, was Rapunzel's hair. It was brown. To Gothel, an ugly, unwanted brown. Her eyes widened. That ( ... )

[Rapunzel doesn't know what else to do. She keeps singing, quietly at first but getting louder and faster as the panic rises. And then even that is broken up by her terrified sobs and hiccups. She has to stop to breathe, and then she tries again, focusing harder on the singing and less on all the noise.]

Heal what has been hurt, change the fate's design...

[She's a horrible daughter. A despicable human being. If she hadn't left, this wouldn't have happened. And now the only sound that fills her ears is the sound of her mother yelling at her. The sirens are gone and she's a child again, staring up at her mother as the closet door is slammed on her to trap her in the darkness, screaming and crying to be let out and be forgiven. She's reliving every time she messed something up, the icy looks she received when she asked to go outside, even if only for a moment...]

Sa... Save... what has been lost...

[No. Her place was inside the tower.]

Bring back...[So in her mind, that's where she went. Back to the sanctity of the tower, too high ( ... )

[Jane is curled up, her knees to her chest, hugging her fairly unresponsive pink bear. At least the teachers let him keep her, even if she couldn't stay with Russell.

She closes her eyes, trying to block out the noise, but all she hears are bombs dropped, guns going off, and she's clenching her teeth to keep from screaming.

Where's her mother? Her father? Her brother? What's happened to them?

She hasn't stopped crying, but she's also trying to be very, very quiet.]

[When the barriers fell, the deafening sounds and harsh images that overtook Lotso's mind in that fleeting moment had nearly overtaken him. But the fact that he could still feel an embrace was like a tethering line holding him to reality while the rest of the world fell away.
In a deafening boom, it all vanished. Lotso sat up with a start, eyes wide. His dreams were all a jumbled mess of subconcious sludge right now, he couldn't make heads or tails of it. And then he suddenly realized where he is- In Jane's arms, in a dark place he's never seen before. How did he get here? What happened?

He notices Jane's quiet sobbing and looks up, worried.]

Jane? What's wrong?

[There's an audible squeak when he speaks, and it takes Jane a moment to place the voice. She looks down at the bear, eyes widening... then shutting tightly as she hugs him even closer.

This is the first bit of good news in the last couple days.]

Mr. Lotso. You're okay.
