As I have been revising reading The Goblin Market and thinking about Labyrinth, this headline just tipped me over to write something short and snappy...and slightly disgusting and creepy.

Petals on the steps
There is a registry office - a godawful small affair from the outside - just on the way back to my little flat. And every so often, under the grey English sky, in the damp and cold, I see shrivelled petals and sodden confetti, dull glitter, on the ground, lifeless and withered. -

Flashback
Just had the briefest, strangest flashback to a sunny Japan, cycling (or walking) past a cafe - what was it called? On the corner of the crossroads, opposite the university...further along is Iki Iki Joho centre, further and to the right - Dazaifu.
