As a follow up to RQ7: Caffeine in chocolate?, here is:

RQ14: Is decaffeinated coffee a diuretic? If so, then why?

I thought it was caffeine that was the diuretic.

Do you think it is indeed caffeine that is the diuretic, and that what is left in decaffeinated coffee is sufficient to act as such?

nono. they don't extract caffeine using dichloromethane anymore. they have a gene knockout plant that doesn't make ANY caffeine, so it shouldn't be a diuretic. :)
