Old is gold. I have reached a stage where I've stopped wanting to meet that many new people, and find it more rewarding to concentrate on the people I already know. I can honestly say this and mean it now: intelligence means very close to nothing. What matters about a person is not his IQ - be it in principle as part of his character, or out of pragmatic concerns as part of how he handles the world. I like the way the higher tones sigh and sink and stop and start, like waves crashing on a beach, forging and retracting, gushing in and pulling out. Even without synesthesia, this music is extended beyond vibrations in air, it is tactile, tensile.
