Mikey watches Don from the doorway, the insane day, less than a day really still sinking in. Less than twenty four hours ago Don was a snarling hissing mindless monster, the complete opposite of what he truly was. And now he back, or more accurately had never changed.

Mikey was beginning to wish he hadn't lied when asked what time he was from, just so he could come out and ask if Don was okay in their time. But he coudln't have done that in front of Donny and... All three of his brothers were...a little off. And Don was at the heart of the reason why, Mikey didn't know what was going on, but, had figured that much out.

He felt fur against his leg and closed the door with a quiet click, shutting Klunk in with the two turtles, Mikey was keeping a close eye on his little buddy until he knew there was no way the cat could wander out of the apartments and turned into monster kibble.

Cat safe, Mikey turned his attention back to his big bother...who was now his little brother, and who still hadn't noticed him. Mikey smirked, and ( ... )

Well, not always... just 99.9999999999% of the time. And, awww. :< techoutmystaff May 19 2010, 21:25:13 UTC
The first part of Donatello's reaction was predictable--a loud "GAAH!" followed by an attempt to turn around quickly. Unfortunately for him and what wasn't so predictable, was that the effort of turning around caused the edge of his shell to snag against the chair's back, and both he and the chair toppled over.

He stared up at Mikey, flat on his shell with his legs draped over the fallen chair, and blinked for a few long moments until, slowly, his eyes narrowed. "Mikey, you either help me up in the next five seconds, or I'm stapling you to my desk."

Normally that'd be grounds for a much angrier response, even from Donatello. But.. he had missed it, being bugged to death by his little brother.

He was thankful at least that it wouldn't probably last. Things would be back to normal soon.

Mikey blinked for a second before he started laughing as he crouched next to his fallen brother, threat heard but unheeded, situation normal.

"Hey need a hand?" Mikey asked hands ready to offer a slow clap before his grin turned in to something more sincere and he really did offer a hand up.

As fun as it was to wind his brothers up, he wasn't planning to spend tonight pestering Don. He was intending to fake sleep and just watch Don tinker, he had missed that, the background noise of the computer keyboard, or tools, or just him murmuring under his breath as he thought through the planning stage of whatever project he had just dreamed up. All sounds that faded into the background, and were often drowned out by other things and barely noticed; but were now painfully noticeable by the absence, replaced by the thump thump thump of a...thing. A thing that wanted to kill them all, a thing that had his brother trapped inside it ( ... )

"Jerk," Donatello muttered under his breath, but there wasn't the usual amount of annoyance behind it, and he let out a sigh as he took Mikey's hand. "Why do I put up with you?"

It was a joking, retorical question, as they both already knew the answer. Because you're my brother, and I love you. Not that Donny would say that second part aloud very often, but it went unsaid.

Donatello was just happy to see Mikey as Mikey, instead of a middle-aged turtle whose eyes were already half-dead. Here was his Mikey, joking around and being an idiot, and that was more than just a bit reassuring. Kinda disturbing that it was reassuring, actually....

"No," Donatello sounded slightly irritated with Mikey for calling his bluff, but he pulled himself up with his brother's help. "But if I couldn't find one, I'd make one." His voice took on a note of innocence. "Just for you, Mikey."
