It would be surprising to no one that Donatello was reading a book while he waited for Mikey to return to the bedroom. The surprising part was that he was actually already ready for bed, even if he was grounded from building his lab or working in a lab until Thursday. He had circumvented the "no new books" part of his punishment, and yet... he was still going to bed on time.
At least for tonight, anyways.
Donatello didn't want to keep up his little brother--who was now older than him because of some cruel twist of fate--and.. well, he'd rather not think about the other reasons he volunteered to let Mikey stay with him until they had separate bedrooms again. Don also rather not think about the knowing look he got from Raph or the unspoken questions in Leo's eyes.
And so, to keep himself distracted, he was back to reading one of the books that Giovanni had brought him. The problem is, it was probably making him a bit too distracted....
