Franky had keeping himself occupied checking out the ship. Not bad, he had to admit. It looks like everyone knew what they were doing, which made him both proud and feel a bit useless.

Before he could start pacing back and forth across the entire ship, he gave up for the moment and dropped down to relax and watch the sea roll by. A grin crept up on his face as he watched the others run around like idiots.

Yeah, this was more like it. It was one of the first things Franky could call remotely normal since he ended up here.

"You know, this woulda been a hell of a lot easier if you showed up earlier," Zoro took it upon himself to approach Franky, interrupting his silence in favor of his strange - and recently unseen - brand of humor ( ... )

"If Franky had been here, then we definitely would have had a rocket ship! A really big one! It would have been awesome!"

Not that he was putting any blame on Franky for being gone, no way. It's just, imagining the kind of ship they could have had if he'd been around earlier...

"Oooh. Really awesome."

To say that Chopper was excited about being back on a boat and sailing again would have been a huge understatement, but it's not like he could have gone around running down every inch of the boat to show it. He already knew what the boat was like, having investigated every inch of it with Luffy when it had finally been done, but the experience of being on water once more, no matter that it was a lake instead of an ocean, was something that he had been eager for since the Straw Hats had decided that they needed to do more than just sit around Discedo and let the city get the best of them.

No way. That wasn't how a pirate lived, especially a Straw Hat pirate. So Chopper kept himself draped over the edge of the side of the boat, peering down at the water down below and the passing land, familiar ground that would lead to unfamiliar ground. It was adventure time, and with a wide smile on his face the little doctor wondered just what kind of exciting things they'd find on their trip.

From her seasick corner of the boat, Riful watched Chopper. It was... perhaps the first time she'd seen the little reindeer doctor in person, and she really didn't know what to make of him. In her mine, there were humans, who were food, and non-human monsters, who were misguided potential allies and thereby not food because they didn't taste good, and animals, who were food for the human body, and generally worthless to her.

...

Isn't it terribly inconvenient, bringing their food supplies live like that? Riful does it, but under markedly different circumstances-- really now, you could hardly compare the two.

Catching sight of wandering eyes was a thing Chopper had picked up pretty easily just because, it made perfect sense after all. A talking reindeer with a big pink hat doesn't usually go unnoticed. It didn't bother him though, not anymore. But it still felt weird.

His ears perked as he turned his head to figure out where the source of this feeling that he was being watched was coming from, and it brought him toward Riful. The doctor knew seasickness when he saw it so he immediately jumped off his spot on the railing and came scuttling over, a bit of worry on his face.

"Riful, are you feeling alright? You don't look very good. Have you never sailed before?"

"Oh, never before." She doesn't like it in the least, but it doesn't seem like a very PC thing to say. "It's... different, isn't it? I should say I'm not very used to it-- but I suppose that's obvious enough."

But he was really a very nice walking-talking animal thing, all the same. It would be a shame when the humans ate it.

Excited was certainly the word for it; they had been talking about this for so long...months, right?

And here they were, maybe not out at sea, but certainly the next best thing!

Nami had been right -- the ship was small and a little crowded. But Umi didn't mind; she had been feeling a lot more peaceful since they set out. Maybe she was just at home on the water...even if it was just a dingy lake like this. She leaned over the railing, getting a look at the water as they passed by. It certainly wasn't like being out on the ocean, but that was okay. They were together, all of them: the Straw Hats, she and Hikaru, so many of their friends...hey, who could ask for a better adventure?

And this was Luffy, sneaking out of the kitchen with a snack. And by snack, he meant some fried leg of something that he swiped from the kitchen. Captain was happy, it was tasty enough and he didn't think Sanji noticed him swipe it. But either way, he wasn't going to stick around and find out.

So instead he decided to go be somewhere inconspicuous--oh, there was the cake lady, he could go say hi too! He headed to the railing, hopping up to sit on it with his feet dangling.

Pulling the piece of meat from his teeth, he held it out to her. "Want a bite?" But only a bite. If she wanted more she'd have to get it herself.

That wasn't something she had expected! He didn't catch Umi by surprise, not by much, at least --she's relaxed enough out here that her somewhat high-strung nature has calmed a bit-- but she still blinked at him. Well, mostly at that offer. Because really, sharing is one thing but that's taking it a bit too far. Er.

O' captain, my captain...you're kind of weird.

"...No thanks, you go ahead."

Still, she's in a good mood, so have a smile! "I bet you're really excited to be out here, right?"

He's not thaaaat weird. ...okay maybe he is, but he's glad Umi said no. He just returned to snacking on his meat, very content with the way the day was going. They were back to sailing, back to being away from land and off on a new adventure. This was the way pirates lived, the kind of life Luffy loved to absolute bits.

He grinned over at Umi, nodding enthusiastically with cheeks full. "Yep! I can never get tired of this." It came out somewhat mumbled, due to what-are-table-manners but he's still pretty understandable. "What about you?"
