It was safe to say Zelos didn't like the cold. When he was back at home, he'd often move away from home for a few months just to avoid winter. So this ice in the middle of spring? He didn't like it.
Of course, that didn't keep him from poking around it for some sort of an explanation. The thing he hadn't been expecting to see was Danny on the ground. He nearly steps on him, pauses, and frowns down at him before giving him a gentle nudge with his foot. Yes he is the kindest with these things.
Danny looks up dully and pushes himself into a half-crouch. Even in his ghost form, his skin has taken on a definite blue tinge from the cold. In the small part of his mind that isn't taken up with the ice he recognizes that a human was here. That it wasn't safe for either of them.
...Well this wasn't right at all. But Zelos wasn't one to share his observations with facial expressions or words or anything of the sort. So he'll go on appearing like a goof without a care in the world... But at least he'll express some concern for Danny's sake. ...Sort of.
"You're kidding, right? What're you doing on the ground, kid? You look like you're freezing."
Zelos sticks to watching, for now, trying to figure out some things on his own. "They have to be!" A glance around at the ice, and his eyes travel back to Danny. "You're obviously connected to it somehow. You know, unless your eyes do that normally. I'm certainly not cold like that, either." Even surrounded by the ice...
He shifted a bit. "So it's easy! Just snap out of it, kid."
It sounds like he's just being obnoxious and over-simplifying, but he's more thoughtful than he sounds.
"Hey, don't get mad!" He raises a defensive hand, though his voice is as obnoxious as ever. "So what, you're gonna give up? Looks to me like now's a good time to learn how."
Hmm that's not good. "Saying 'can't' isn't gonna help you, kid. Get a grip on yourself!" Well he's sounding more serious now. "You think running away from the issue is gonna help any? Forget about the cold and deal with it."
If Danny had any kind of energy to spare right now he would be glaring. How was any of that supposed to help? He'd be freezing to death if he wasn't a ghost? Deal with it? Easy for him to say. "H-how?"
Zelos is infuriating in that way. He's still kneeling there. "I'm telling you already! Calm down and focus. This is your issue, kid, but you're going to make it everyone else's if you don't get a grip."
Eying... "If you have enough energy to freak out, don't you think you can make that productive? I can't fix this for you. You can do it yourself."
"You s-suck at motivation sp-speeches." But Danny curls himself back up into a ball and tries to focus. Unlike all the other times he developed new powers he had no idea what he was even trying to do. He could feel the ice inside him, but it was slippery and hard to grasp. And it was strong, more powerful that anything he had ever tried to control before. Even the ghostly wail had been easier to control than this. As he concentrates, the ice continues to grow around him.
Of course, that didn't keep him from poking around it for some sort of an explanation. The thing he hadn't been expecting to see was Danny on the ground. He nearly steps on him, pauses, and frowns down at him before giving him a gentle nudge with his foot. Yes he is the kindest with these things.
"Hey, kid, you all right?"

Danny stops and wraps his arms around himself as he suddenly shivers violently.
