It was safe to say Zelos didn't like the cold. When he was back at home, he'd often move away from home for a few months just to avoid winter. So this ice in the middle of spring? He didn't like it.

Of course, that didn't keep him from poking around it for some sort of an explanation. The thing he hadn't been expecting to see was Danny on the ground. He nearly steps on him, pauses, and frowns down at him before giving him a gentle nudge with his foot. Yes he is the kindest with these things.

"Hey, kid, you all right?"

"Heheh, what can I tell ya." Despite the situation, he's in the mood to shrug casually. But he stands and steps back a bit, observing.

"It's now or never, kid."

Concentrate. Concentrate. Concentrate.

For a moment it almost seems as if the ghost has it. The ice perceptibly slows in it's expansion.

And then, explosion. A wave of cold energy sweeps out from Danny, turning the empty space around him into solid ice.

Zelos steps back in shock at that, staring. Well no need for the act anymore.

"Hey, kid! You all right?!" All that ice...

After a few moments Danny wearily phases out of the ice and falls to the ground again, too exhausted to be graceful about it.

He'll rush over to him, kneeling to reach for his shoulder to try and give him a shake. By the way, if this is ever mentioned afterwards as caring, he will deny it strongly...

"Hey!"

Danny hurriedly draws back. "D-don't touch me! I c-can't control it." If the ice could do this to ghost, what would it do to a human?

Well, upon seeing that he's alright, Zelos is a bit more demanding this time. "Yes you can! I just saw you control it!" For a moment, at least.

"Get back to that!"

"It doesn't count if it just explodes like that!"

[srslytoopretty]

"It exploded because you lost it!" He's guessing. He crosses his arms. "You're never going to get anywhere if you keep doubting yourself like that. You want this whole city to turn into an icicle?"

[invisibill]

"I've been trying to stop this ever since I woke up!" Danny scowls back, reaching up to break an icicle out of his hair. "It isn't like ghost powers come with a user's manual!"

[srslytoopretty]

"You think anything's easy?" He sounds kind of dark at that. "It's something you're going to have to deal with. You either deal with it or you lose yourself to it. I don't see how that's different than anything else in the world."

[invisibill]

"It's never easy." And the ghost sounds more than a little bitter about that. "But easy or not, I have no idea what I'm doing or how I'm even supposed to do this!"

[srslytoopretty]

"You think so?" He uncrosses his arms to rest them on his hips. "I think you can figure it out."

Danny gives him a skeptical look. "I'll pass on the optimism, thanks."

"It's called confidence!"
