01. Addiction
YunHo loves it, the way JaeJoong moves across the dance floor. Given enough time, JaeJoong would be just as good as ChangMin is in dancing. Or even just as good as JunSu. But he preserves a little pride in him - it would take another light year for JaeJoong to be up to par with him.
But of course, it is not as if he’s complaining, because opportunity is but fleet-footed, and he gently takes JaeJoong by the wrist, draws the smaller one close to him to guide his steps - teaches JaeJoong how to dance.
Thank you, JaeJoong says, and he just smiles before adding a “You still have to work on your footwork” before turning his heel. He takes a few steps forward, casts a glance back to catch sight of JaeJoong walking away, and wishes for a moment that he could be the path that JaeJoong walks on.
… So that he could be with his friend - his best friend wherever he goes, whenever. Forever.
02. Stars
YunHo takes pleasure in late-night talks, in discussions held over coffee - or tea, because JaeJoong likes tea better - especially when the subject is Dong Bang Shin Ki’s future - their future.
Oh, he has so many dreams for them all. ChangMin would get a second degree in whatever and he’d end up teaching in an esteemed school. YooChun would probably remain in SM, composing songs and training the young ones. JunSu could go solo but he most probably wouldn’t, so he might stay with SM, too, training the youngsters in a definitely harder way, more difficult than any training YooChun could offer. And he and JaeJoong would be together, somewhere, anywhere. Or they could form a singing duo. Yes, that would be good.
Be original, JaeJoong says out of the blue, and he quickly fixes his eyes on his friend. He shoots JaeJoong a questioning look, but the latter doesn’t give any reply. He shakes his head and a small smile surfaces on his lips.
He never knew stars weren’t really in the sky or in the galaxy. That’s a new piece of information for him.
03. Curse
YunHo reaches out, tries to hold onto something, anything - onto JaeJoong - and searches for a meaning for his existence. He is tired, tired of all the things that he has to do, tired of putting up the leader act every single time, tired of having to be strong when all he wants is to be weak.
A soft hand lands on his shoulder and his eyes shoot up. He hides the smile that instantly makes its way to his lips and takes a deep breath.
Relax, JaeJoong says, and he simply nods in affirmation, but he couldn’t relax. Not when he has a lot to do. Not when he has to put up the YunHo act because JaeJoong is there.
JaeJoong will never understand, YunHo muses, and he’d have to live this kind of life until JaeJoong does.
04. Want
YunHo takes this chance to finally breathe - he excuses himself from the staff and the members who are engaging in an animated conversation, and softly pats JaeJoong’s shoulder. But it seems that the action is not enough so he decides to live in reality for the first time - he grabs JaeJoong by the wrist and takes him to the farthest corner of the room, somewhere between the locked room that holds Lord knows what and the corridor where no one has ever crossed before.
He pins JaeJoong on the wall and locks his gaze with the latter’s. He wants JaeJoong to know everything about him, to understand every single thing that he’s going through because no one could understand him right now and he knows - he is certain - that JaeJoong would understand him. He pauses midway through his actions when he hears JaeJoong’s breathing hitch, but this doesn’t stop him. He shatters all his barriers, lets himself melt in JaeJoong’s arms as he kisses JaeJoong on the lips, searching, waiting for acceptance - hoping to be finally given life.
What are you doing, JaeJoong asks as he pulls away, and it takes YunHo five seconds to come up with an excuse or anything that could be remotely called an excuse. He laughs sheepishly and shakes his head, telling JaeJoong that the latter shouldn’t think about it, that “This didn’t really happen”. He plasters a smile on his lips and waves of all of JaeJoong’s questions, and turns his heel to leave.
The first step he takes causes him to stumble and fall.
05. LOL
YunHo isn’t the one to be the butt of all jokes - that is JunSu, and he knows all too well that the latter doesn’t enjoy that kind of attention - but he finds himself in the center of a big prank. It is funny, he muses, that laughing tires him a lot, and, for the first time in his life, all he wants to do is to frown.
But then the cameras start rolling in a matter of seconds, and he is left with no choice but to smile for the sake of the fans, for the sake of his fellow members and the staff. He is the leader of Dong Bang Shin Ki; shouldn’t he set a good example for his fellow members to follow?
Leader-ssi, JaeJoong calls out to him, and he wills every bit of him to not respond to the call. But he soon succumbs to his heart’s desire and turns his head so that his eyes would meet JaeJoong’s. No words are said but he somehow understands - oh yes, he does - knows that things will be okay. Yes, things will be okay. Things should be okay.
In three, two - Lights, camera, action.
