I can't pay attention!

I wish I knew what the problem was. I know there are a lot of people (especially younger people) who complain of having short attention spans. To be honest it's never really affected my work, except perhaps in highschool where I did kind of poorly, but it does make things more difficult for me. A small secret I have learned about reading a book is to do it while eating cheetoes puffs.

OK now you may think it stupid but follow the logic here.

If you read a book while eating something like that you don't want to get powder or oils on the pages so your automatically more attentive. You take care to make sure you wipe your hands on a paper towel and that helps keep you attentive and prevents your mind from drifting.

I go to McDonalds sometimes and grab some fries and a drink and a good book. I can read pages and pages without issue there but at home I zonk out by the 3rd page. If your not big on Cheetoes try cookies, just make sure that whatever you choose requires some form of a cleaning ritual and isn't sticky. The goal is to keep you alert, not complicate your reading session.
