A Walk to Remember- I felt the same way about the book, and actually preferred the movie. And you haven't seen it? I love it and have watched it numerous times. I mean, obviously it's not some top-notch high quality film, but I still think it's great, and from what I remember of the book, the storyline is kinda different as well.

I've been hearing so much about Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy lately, and really want to read the book before I see the movie, but everyone else feels the same and it's not in any of the libraries at the moment. In fact, I think it's even missing from the local library.

I like Mandy Moore (but not when she's singing) so I've always been meaning to watch the film, it's not really anyone else's cup of tea, so it never gets picked up for DVD nights and stuff. I need different friends sometimes.

And you should definitely read Hitchhiker's, but the movie works even if you haven't.

Wow. Now that's a list of books.

I Have A Bed Made Of Buttermilk Pancakes...still nowhere to be found over here. The Dog Walker, however, I might look into. I steer pretty well clear of chick lit for some of the same reasons.

Oh, I've read A Walk to Remember, too. Wasn't one of my favorite Nicholas Sparks novels. But his books read so fast, it usually doesn't matter.

I'm pretty sure you'll be able to find Buttermilk Pancakes over there very soon. Ahem.

And the Nicholas Sparks book was thin. I'm making choices on thickness while I'm so far behind.

I just have to say how much I love the title I Have A Bed Made of Buttermilk Pancakes. It just makes me feel all cuddly and warm.

And The Dog Walker sounds great too! Fabulous descriptions, especially about disappointments and love. Although now I want a dog. Really badly. Maybe I'll get a hamster when I come back from holidays. That's really the only thing I can get away with in my apartment.

The book pretty much makes me feel the same way. Well, giggly and sometimes uncomfortable when the characters have the same stupid thought processes I have, but still.

And the dog book really is good for the dog-love aspect. But I'm sure your future hamster will love you very much. *g*
