That's a new one on me!

May 10, 2019 14:18

I just had an automated phonecall from BT. It said they'd been trying to contact me, my IP address had been compromised, and my internet connection would be shut off in 24 hours. Press 1 to speak to a technician.

I did nothing and the call was disconnected.

I googled and it's a scam. The next step would have been to let them access my pc.

scam, computer

I get similar from "TalkTalk"about once a month. Am registered with the Telephone Preference Service but that hasn't stopped them 😔 Depending on my mood I do string them along for a bit and then tell them to F off! 😂 And then block the number.

Scammers are very inventive, unfortunately.

It was bizarre. Espcially as BT email me enough.

I've had this a few times and I'm not even with BT! Plus the bot has an American accent!
