The blade cut deep, leaving trails of crimson slowly dripping down his arm. His head tilted, a slight frown marred his face as he examined his handiwork.
He’d had to learn balance, one time he’d been careless. The blood he’d lost had made him dizzy, unfocused on a hunt. The shifter he’d been chasing had almost gotten away and that was simply unacceptable.
But, no, this slice was no different than the dozen others latticing his forearms. Many of them silvered now into scars. Sam always found himself wondering, would the next slice be the one he could finally feel?
