Concluding my one-year experience with Johnny's.

Dec 23, 2008 19:53

I've been a KAT-TUN for nearly a year now (minus January), and a Johnny's fan for about the same time. I've moved from KAT-TUN to NEWS (briefly), KinKi Kids to Johnny's Jrs. (mostly Tokyo). My first contact (I consider them alien life-forms xD) with Johnny's began with Nobuta wo Produce, which without the narrative would have been quite boring. ( Read more... )

my fandom-consumed brain, johnny's juniors, j-pop is serious business, johnny's entertainment, kat-tun, news, kinki kids, arashi

to be honest I only really skimmed this monster of a post, but it was pretty interesting xD especially since I'm a new JE fan too. Your English is still pretty good :P
Anyway, it was seeing what you think. I'm still at the point of thinking of JE as a giant money-making male harem for Johnny.

It did get pretty long. I started rambling about everyone's history and couldn't stop. ;) Plus I wrote this for myself so I couldn't bother much with trying proper English not that I can do it properly if I tried.

Johnnys is still a money-making, eh, thing, but compared to other talent agencies, it's not really the most money-thirsty one. I've come to the point where I'm trying to view them from an industrial viewpoint, because somehow taking bubbly!crack seriously is what I do. IDK why either.

I know they're trying to act all 'we're not typical Johnnys', which is exactly what's making me uncomfortable. If they weren't Johnnys, they most likely wouldn't be getting a quarter of the deals they're getting now...And yes, Johnny's Agency takes a lot from their idols, but the fame they do get is ridiculous, so. What are Johnnys? Idols. What do idols do? Appeal to their fans. So in the end, they're still idols, and it's kind of annoying when they refuse to admit that o_O ( ... )

Ah, I liked Akanishi's attitude better this time. I really really hated his sex kitten act that he pulls on whenever he goes on stage. Plus with Kame's fakeness and I feel like screaming sometimes. But Jin dropped the sex kitten, thank god. He went for the dorky cute attitude this time.

He did have what I call a image issue until 2007. He couldn't decide whether he wanted to be cool, sexy or dorky cute so he usually acted out all three at the same time! I was like "Make up your mind!!" I like dorky cute, hope he stays that way. But most of his fans are built on his sex kitten image...

The more I love, the harsher I get

Haha, very true. Well, don't stress it, just take it as it is. I'm beginning to get that mindset due to the lack of my nakanishi. It cultivates patience, lol!
