I just checked out what you can do with a free account and I had to change the layout theme and then placed a banner (used one of my existing Craving Coffee banners temporarily) at a photo site and then linked it. Hated the look of the site! So I changed back to my neutral gray, 2 column where the ads are at the side. Sigh.

I'm really lucky, someone randomly bought me a paid account last year and due to the DDoS attacks, it keeps getting extended.... That's why I'm thinking I should redo it liek naow - paid accounts, it's easier with.

If you go to paid and get used to permanent pages and sidebars or whatever they offer, you'll probably get hooked on it and never go back. I started a google site - free - but they're a pain to create. I've done a few web site designs but these journals and google sites are a bit different.

p.s. please please don't choose white type on a black background! We'll go blind at an early age.

Hmm...depends what kind of pimping you wanna do. I'd be happy to explain how to add a customized header the way I have in my journal and my fic comm. A completely customized lay out? Me no help. :(

spoonyriffic keeps saying she'll make a Tibbs mood theme but it's still not done. *glowers* Because the one I'm using by benschi is nice and all, but features Tiva-ish stuff (well, it's an NCIS mood theme, so that's perfectly okay) and so I have to avoid moods like "hot" or "horny" or "flirty" or such. Adding a customized mood theme is a LOT of work, btw, fair warning, but I'd be happy to at least send you the one I'm using right now (not sure where online I found it because it's not on benschi's LJ)

I wish Spoony would finish the tibbs theme, I'd jack that shit in a second, yo! I like yours, though. Would gladly use it until Spoony gets hers up. *grabby hands*

Sure thing, you can do that. All you need is a nifty header (some pic you really dig or whatever), upload it to your scrapbook (or tinypic or wherever, but LJ scrapbook makes the most sense), and then add a specific code to the layout code. I can send it to you in an email and tell you where exactly to add it, and you're all set. :D But first, go and find a nice pic you want as header! LOL!
