Back in the 1960s, John Lennon (unwisely, poor man) claimed that: "The Beatles are bigger than Jesus Christ." A firestorm of protest ensued, needless to say, though he was pretty much correct. :p So it's entirely possible that Neuer said such a thing. A big nothing, IMO, so I hope it blows over, or is merely tabloid b.s.

The source is Goal.com, so I'm taking it with a grain of salt, but I could actually see Manu saying most of this. The title exaggerates it a bit tho...

That said, I want Manu out of Schalke asap.

People use the pope as an analogy of importance all the time. What's the big deal? He's just a person.
