Manuel Neuer On Collision Course With Felix Magath And Catholic Church ?____?

Oct 27, 2010 23:20

Schalke goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has given a remarkably candid interview which could leave him with some new questions to answer.

The 24-year-old shot stopper hailed new team-mate Raul, and compared the 33-year old striker to the Pope.

He also defended his party-going team-mates after they drew criticism from coach Felix Magath.

"When I heard during my vacation that Raul was coming to Schalke, everything fell from my hands," the Germany international told Sport-Bild. "The signing of Raul is comparable to that of the Pope."

Neuer went on to voice his support for team-mates who went partying in Frankfurt last weekend.

"These evenings are important for the team. We grow together and learn to know one another better. It was even good to get away from football," the captain said. His sentiments were directly contrasted by those of Magath, a strict disciplinarian who deemed the partying as "clear misconduct".

At the end of last season, Neuer committed his future to Schalke. However, he has been critical of his team in recent weeks, and admitted that he might be interested in a transfer. Among his potential suitors are Bayern Munich and Manchester United.

the title read preposterous to me. and as the article is in English, i am sure it sounds way a difference if the original source is in German. and i dunno, i just cant comprehend that Manu actually said those things. though i wud if possible really like anyone to GIF this : When I heard during my vacation that Raul was coming to Schalke, everything fell from my hands. :D and The signing of Raul is comparable to that of the Pope is sooo macro-able. geeheee....

In conclusion, i do admit that Manu has been very very outspoken lately. :\
