The Starfury "Elementary" convention which actually was a "Sherlock" Convention was a wonderful opportunity to have a look at the creativity of fans. The first evening also the "Cycling Awards" ceremony took place at the hotel, and we saw lots of women in long gowns and men in tuxes and also Scotsmen in kilts. I'm not sure what those thought of all ( Read more... )

Wow those were great! I saw a few photos online of Benedict Cumberbatch there and wondered what it was all about. Where did this con take place?? And were you in costume? ;)

This con took place in Birmingham, in a hotel I have been to twice before for other cons. I know the way there from the airport well ;) And you also might have seen the adventures of the Doctor in Birmingham which I posted a few days ago ( ... )

If you like, you already can read all the Q & A from Benedict here: http://www.benedictcumberbatch.co.uk/interviews/benedict-cumberbatch-qa-starfury-events/

This is so complete that I won't write it all down again, but I will write a bit more about the others.

Yeah I guess I am a bit late, as everyone has an i-phone nowadays and can tweet immediately ;)
I'll write some more about it all, I am just back home.

I also have some new cows from Frankfurt airport for you ;)

Yes, that's what Sean said, that the Sherlock fans were very intelligent and smart and well behaved.

If you like, you can read all questions and answers from the Benedict panel here: http://www.benedictcumberbatch.co.uk/interviews/benedict-cumberbatch-qa-starfury-events/

So I won't do a report about that of my own, it can't be more complete than that.

I also wonder where and when the official con will be, and who is gonna attend and whether it fits into my plans. We'll see! Wish you luck. Benedict definitely enjoyed himself, he said so, so I don't see why he should not do more. (although I am not sure if the event would be that small in the US, yours always seem to be so huge!)

OMG, the apparently naked-unter-the-coat Irene! XD

I think the one in the shock blanket is supposed to be Sherlock and she put her hair up to make it about Sherlock length.

Ah, that would make sense! I forgot about the blanket. I thought it should be another naked Irene but she definitely had too many clothes under the blanket which looked more like a huge towel to me. I should have asked her.

The last Irene is awesome but I think my favourite was Moriarty in straight jacket. That was dedication as she really could not move her arms at all. Her friend had to get her all the autographs etc.

There was like a competition but I have no idea who won in the end.

Wow, that really is dedication! I'd can't imagine not being able to use my hands.
