So this is my plan for the next months:

Benedict in Birmingham in February.

John in the CD studio in London in March.

The Torchwood people in Birmingham in April.

The Stargate people (Rick, Michael and Amanda!) in Dusseldorf in May.

Hopefully Benedict as Hamlet in theatre in the fall. And more hopfeully a JB tour in Cardiff as well. I already have tickets for the next panto in Glasgow next January.

Any questions? LOL

(and somewhere also Starfury talked about an Arrow con, oh my...)

I can't tell you how relieved I am. Those past two weeks were awful. There was a lot of hate flying around in the internet. Both sides said they were right, but only one was going to "win" in the end. A lot spoke very badly about the convention, as if it was some sort of scam, but I always thought that someone had signed the contract and then forgot to tell the others. It happens? No idea why it took so long to sort out but anyway, phew!

I already had made my peace with losing the 80 GBP I have paid for the hotel and just not go. We would have gotten the ticket money back resp. our credit cards were not charged. But today they got charged and so we still had hope.

I was serously afraid of not being able to get any flights this late in the game. Now I just hope there won't be snow so I can actually fly!

She only said what she was told by them indeed, and wanted fans not to book expensive flights and hotels. She did not deserve the flaming she got. But we also know Sean never posts without having a contract, so I was always pretty sure that it was true. He did also not deserve all the flaming he got.

I still can't believe it. It's in two weeks already. I need a new haircut so I will look good LOL

Woah! All that waiting to see if it would be confirmed must have had you tied up in knots. See, this is just what I meant about cons being stressful. :-p I'm so glad it worked out for you! :) (I would totally endure the stress for the chance to meet Benedict, however. The odds of him coming to something around here seem so small. I've not given up hope though!)

I just wanted it to get resolved one way or the other. I already had made my peace with losing the 80 GBP I already paid for the hotel. Starfury usually never confirms a guest until it's all settled so we have no idea what happened there. But now all the important people seem to have talked with each other and we are back in the game.

Yes, organizing hotels and flights and tickets is always stressful, but usually so worth it! The fun thing is, I am not even that badly a Cumberbatch fan, not with butterflies in my stomach (yet, maybe I'll see it differently after this weekend!) but I just could not let this opportunity pass. My friend is a much bigger fan than me but she already has a different vacation booked. Bad timing.

If I understand it right, it will be his first con ever? Oh dear. Hopefully he is not scared off and will do more in the future so you'll get your chance. Last time we had a women asking quite some embarrassing questions to poor David Tennant.

Sometimes you just have to suck it up and cut your losses--but I'm glad you didn't have to in this case!

Maryanne and I are both in the "butterflies in the stomach" phase over him, which started with this season of "Sherlock", and are jealous of your good fortune! (She's gone on a binge watching all his other movies, while I'm immersing myself in the Sherlock fandom. That's usually how it goes--she falls in love with the actor, me with the character--see how well we complement each other? :D)

You might be all a-flutter too after this weekend, as he seems very charming and funny in interviews. And even if not, I'm sure it will be a great experience.

I didn't realize it was his first con! Oh my. I do hope people behave themselves. LOL.

Sometimes it just takes a little longer for me ;) For a long while, I wondered what everyone saw in David Tennant, in my eyes he is not THAT good looking, you know. I kept watching his Doctor and waiting for the butterfly effect ;) I mean, I know how it is supposed to feel, right ( ... )
