At the moment I have 20 cm of snow on my balkony, and counting. It's snowed for the past few days now. Since Dresden is situated deep in a valley, usually the snow thaws away quickly, so I always love when it stays a bit longer

Since those pictures are from 2010, I seriously don't remember how cold it was. But I took them in my lunchbreak, so it was okay. I didn't stay outside for long. It's true that looking through the window the world is much prettier LOL Today I watched the neighbours and their children building snowmen. I think it already starts to thaw now.
I prefer to look at pictures of snow than the real thing, I get cold easily even indoors. We had a tiny bit of snow last night, but it's gone now. It's still freezing cold though. I have gloves and a hat on indoors and my feet are still frozen.
Oh yes, looking at this snow is much better from indoors lol It still hasn't stopped, it looks like a Winder Wonderland outside. I took a few more pictures of the trees with snow, beautiful

Wow...snow, snow everywhere. I live in warm place. This winter there's no below freezing point. Recently I kind of miss snow when I experienced as a kid. It's getting warmer here.
Yes, lots of snow! Did you live somewhere else as a kid, or are the winters just not as cold anymore as they used to be? The snow already starts to thaw now, I see people make snowmen with their kids!
I moved 4 times but stay around Osaka. I remember I gathered snow to make snowman when I lived in my first home. My memory is less and less snow as I grow up. I'm sure winter here is not very cold anymore. I love making snowman. There are no chance here.
I can honestly say that I have never made snow angels in my life. I have no idea whether it is just not usual in my family or if we want to go political and bring up the upbringing in the GDR again? Because surely, angels were not something that existed. They even went as far as to rename the wooden Christmas Angels we put up at Christmas time "End of the year wooden figures with wings" just so they didn't have to call them angels.
Or maybe it's just an American thing? I have to ask my Western German friends about it.
Then again, I guess my mother wouldn't have been too fond of me lying in the snow making the clothes wet ;)
Thank you, glad you like them! I remember I wanted them to post back then but then the snow had thawed away and somehow it did not seem to be fitting anymore. I'm glad that you reminded me of them!

I had no idea. I used to do it when we I was a kid and it snowed enough to cover the ground because it was the only time my parents would let me roll around on the ground. Mostly, I just made snowmen and had snowball fights with my dad.
