Just a little something I whipped up today. Yesterday a Facebook friend posted this for his elf on a shelf collection: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10154493443766141&set=a.10151981520171141. ( Read more... )

Aww, I love the orange rodent with the bushy tail in the last picture -- is it meant to be a dormouse?

quarryquest says yes! And you have the perfect icon for it ;) Lots of rodents for my rodent lover!

Just checked your icons - I never noticed how many you have indeed! I love the one in the pink car and the one in the dollhouse bed. On Tumblr there once was a huge house someone had built for their mice, have I shown that to you already?

I wish I had space for more than only 15 icons. That's really not much. Maybe they'll change that one day for free users. They changed that we now can edit comments, which we couldn't at first.

These are so adorable! :D I especially like the reindeer from the first picture and the brown mouse from the second picture. So cute!

In our family we really have lots of adorable ones! We have a rule that we only buy the really cute ones. I already know another one which I will get for Christmas. A camel ;)

Please check also the links 1 till 4 that I posted, my brother does really funny pictures with them. And it's absolutely true that they always sit at the family able and get fed even. Always great fun (and they are well behaved and don't pee on the carpet ;) )

That's a dormouse you have there on the last picture (a Siebenschläfer?). What's the two-tone one? Not seen anything like that before.

No idea actually - looks more like a hamster to me? Or a guinea pig? I guess my brother took the term "mouse" not as literally and included any kind of rodents.

Judging by the tail, the two-tone one should still be a mouse or a rat. They do come in mixed colors often, though usually not as sharp a division like that. A lot of pet rats are hooded rats for example, although the darker color is usually on top.

And the black critter is a rat, I'm pretty sure :)

Yes, I agree the black is a rat. I just didn't want to write "A mouse, a rat and a dormouse sit around the dinner table..." Sounds like the beginning of a bad joke LOL

I just found a real guinea pig (without tail) in my stash! And what would the small one be? It has a very short tail:
