Spot the difference!
Hint: It IS NOT "Snow"!

This is the view from my balkony, over the soccer field and allotment gardens till the houses where my parents still live.

To see the right answer, click the LJ cut ;)

Behind the cut lies the answer to the riddle )

It's safer to have it underground, right? (Cool view.)

Exactly, I can imagine what would happen if a football ended up tangled in that.

I think it was away far enough from the football field, but it is hard to tell from this perspective.
We were very lucky that the line was there as that meant they had to leave the gardens and not build more buildings there. So we had a great view into the green.

And I was so used to it that I did not want to miss it when moving out of my parent's ;) So I just moved to the opposite side.

The birds will just have to sit in the trees instead.

True. I took some pictures in fall but never posted them. Look at those beautiful colors!

It's the sno... Oh, right.

Wait, that pole was actually on the road?

The one in my pictures was in the gardens, but the next one to the right (outside the pic) and more along the line were indeed in the middle of the road. Only a small road though and cars were able to pass it at the side, but still. Nothing you would expect! I guess when they erected them there was no other place to put them?

'-If that's a case, from no electricity or an obsticle on the road, I know what I'd chosen

Being under ground is better. No problems with the power lines in bad weather then.

That is true. Although in Germany we very rarely have problems with that. Not like in the US.

These in the town - well, it is good they removed them. And you are right, such pylons are quite unusual in the town.

They seem to be really the last ones. There was a long article in the newspaper which I kept. I already was too late when they tore down our typical Eastern German supermarket (there will be a kindergarden built now, and I am gonna draw it!) so I figured I better photograph the pylons before they are gone too. As a memory.
