Cinderella's castle stands in Dresden!

As I learnt today, the castle in the new Disney movie "Cinderella" was inspired by our Zwinger here in Dresden! They did not really film there, but photographed all details and then created the castle in the computer, also added another floor to make it look more impressive. Still, you can see what inspired them. Here is a comparison picture:

I live in a beautiful city!
There are lots of museums in it, a famous paintings gallery and others.

Very beautiful castle. Lucky that so many things are filmed there and you get to live in such a beautiful place.

Thank you! I am very proud of my home-city but I guess everyone is of theirs ;) I can't imagine leaving and living somewhere else.

Told you you need to come visit me ;) Many pretty nice things over here in good ol' Europe. Americans usually do the Heidelberg - Nuremburg - Munich corner, but Saxonia is rich of historical buildings as well.

If the Berlin wall was still standing, we would not have this conversation. Although I do wonder, if they would have prevented us from using the internet entirely? Or if it would be restricted like in China? I'd probably not even miss it, as you only can miss things you know about. Probably computers would be so expensive that I would not buy one.
