Bridal Shower and other wedding stuffz... =^o.0^=

My mother and my best friend are throwing me a bridal shower/party extravaganza this Saturday. It appears as if they have gone out of their way to organize this and I am very grateful. It's really foreign to me because I haven't even had a birthday party for myself other than the typical 'hey it's my birthday, lets go drink at the club'. I'm used ( Read more... )

" It's as if every person who ever wanted a chance to take a jab at you when you were down does, and every person who has ever hated weddings, had a bad marriage, or has a problem with your marriage... will make sure you are painfully aware of their issues. "

Oh em geezy.
I had a huge fight with one friend of mine who said "I've already been to one wedding this year - I just can't be expected handle more than one!" She was NOT asked to do anything other than be a guest either.

Also, be prepared to only get a response from like half the people you invited. We had to send out an additional "Hey - we haven't heard from you yet" letter to about 80 people (family included).

I love you too! I will not be surprised if it's me and an empty room. *LOL* It's okay, I am donating the extra food to a mission anyways. I don't believe in wasting food that can help feed other people.

Wedding rants eh? I don't know if I can handle other people's stress, I might be too empathetic at this time. Maybe I'll peep after dinner tonight when I have an open bottle of vino handy.

Yeah, I should add, since you're an empathetic person, it might just make you angrier.

Let me know if I can help somehow...

agreed about the people aspect. and also even if people rsvp expect a 5-10% no show, i never believed it would happen (silly me!) but i think i paid for $500+ in food for people who didn't show up who said they were.

having been through this experience recently i can honestly say the wedding planning was fun, stressful, and about five hours before the wedding i had a mental breakdown. but nothing compared, nothing, absolutely nothing to that moment when i walked out of the bridal room and i saw him standing there at the end of the aisle waiting for me. at that moment nothing matters. everything could have went wrong (and believe me things did, UGH) but i didn't care and i promise you won't either.

plus, you can always think of the fact that whatever does happen you get to run far far away from all of those people at the end of the night haha.

wish i could be there for your bridal shower. i miss you.

*sniffles* I miss you too, I wish things here would have been better for you. I'm hoping you can visit sometime sooner than later and thanks for the kind words, they are motivating.

I think you would like the invitations, you should e-mail me your current address and I will mail you one.

You are so good at dressing up! I wish you could make the bridal shower. Oh well, my mother is already panicking about the game pieces (even though she won't tell me what these games are grr..).

*big hugs*

i think it would have been wonderful for billie and i since we love the city, but cody is doing so well here despite our protests of being in a small town. plus the newspaper business is starting to be a dying memory (especially out there with two papers closing) and it's safe here where the wallstreet can't afford to close their presses.

blah.

we really, badly, want to visit. i wish i knew when that could be. amusing though that the next time we see each other we'll be married women. whatever happened to our getting old and sneaking into peoples houses hah.

I don't know, but I am keen on the idea of tattooing the words FUCK YOU in big, bold, black print on my forehead. Of course I'll do this when I'm 76 before sneaking into any houses.

You're welcome to join me!
