I love how you linked that last dot point to drop bears XD vicious lot, they are.

That aside, damn I enjoyed this! Germany's feelings about his national pride, the 'tall poppy syndrome' (so true. SO TRUE)... the thing about 'flying' was simply precious. It's interesting how Germany keeps thinking about Australia in relation to England and America. And Germany getting all flushed around Australia -- d'awww 8)

Lovely (hilarious) ending to a lovely fic! I liked the use of the German tricolour at the end there - it was a nice little extra touch to it all. Great job! \o/

Man, you're fast!

Australia did always cross the line between the cute and the dangerous. Him having a dropbear as a pet wouldn't be a surprise. ;P

Germany's national pride being a touchy issue just saddened me. In my opinion, it's a nice, nice country with lots of things to be proud of. I guess one low point in history just changed everything, and not for the better.

ILU, Australians and your tall poppiness. FIGHT THE POWER.

Australia's just the delicate mix of America and England's personalities, just right the amount of cheeriness and snark all rolled into one.

Shhh, I ship it. C;

This is very true, and definitely very sad. I'm glad for the World Cup for giving them the opportunity to bring out some of the nationalistic pride though -- even though there are still those who seem against it, as in your link. But, still.

WE LOVE OUR UNDERDOGS, WE REALLY, REALLY DO 8D

Same with our language - even though we go by UK English, I've noticed that we swipe a lot of American English too. Best of both worlds, I say.

Ahaha, it's okay. /pats Watch me cram my Minibang fic like hell.

I've been getting an inside scoop from a German friend of mine here on LiveJournal. It seems that the German youth is becoming more open-minded. They're much more willing to go and just move on. It's just the previous generations who're having this dilemma.

You can't blame them, though. Something that terrible isn't going to go away soon. And the fact that they are somehow associated with that just makes them think lowly of themselves. It's a sad, sad cycle. :(

YOU HAVE A HERO COMPLEX, MY DEAR.

Perhaps a categorization of Australian English is in order!

Shhh, it's a guilty pleasure of mine. They'd make excellent drinking buddies, in my opinion. IRL!Germany and Australia are among the world's most ravenous beer drinkers.

Count me in! The British Empire's family dynamics certainly isn't conventional, given their histories, but their present-day relations makes great material for exploration!

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEOH MY GOD I LOVE YOU SERIOUSLY

I MEAN I MEAN I MEAN YOUR PRUSSIA, SO FUCKING AMAZING AKSJDFASKJD HE'S SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO IN CHARACTERRRRRRRRR

AND THE KOALA BAHAHAHAHAHAHA "Once it decided that Germany was no threat to its master, it raised a paw and began to drum Australia’s belly. It occurred to Germany that it’s trying to wake its owner."

THE IMAGERY AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA ONLY AUSTRALIA MAN, ONLY AUSTRALIA XDDDDDDDDDDD

and you did really well with the more serious part of it, too. germany's desire to do well for his countrymen and to make them proud again is beautifully done; very poignant. and australia's simplicity; his way of just taking life as it is is a brilliant portrayal of him and really authentic. i guess that's how i would describe the entire fic? very authentic, very real. you're really a brilliant writer, man, honest ( ... )

Your capslocking just made my day, man. ♥

I don't know if I should be scared by that koala or swooned by it! :'D

I'm definitely glad to hear that! Hetalia!Germany's pretty much a woobie at heart. He only intends only the best for his country and his people. And, Australia? He's capable of chilling out anywhere. He's that laid-back.

Thanks, thanks so much! ♥

Hehe, CBF logging in at TAFE to reply to this, so I'll just do it all anon-like.

This was a brilliant story. I just...kinda felt like being a git and it made me wanna hug my teacher. Of course, I don't know the bloke all that well, so that would have gone down like a tonne of bricks in front of the sausagefest that is my PC Assembly and Repair class.

And I just...it mirrored how I felt a little as an Aussie. And I loved how Australia got retaliation in such a simple prank >3

I almost wanna see a sequel, where Australia kicks Prussia's ass for being a sore winner git XD

Also, according to my brother, The Koala is too small to be a full grown dropbear. It's a baby Dropbear~ But still a dropbear that preys on American tourists >3

Thanks for taking the time to comment, Storm! Can I call you that? ;P

I'm very glad that you think my characterization almost hits home! I've been rewriting and putting this thing off for days upon days, since I don't know how to begin writing Australia. I just read that book and BAM!

Australia's one big prankster like that. He gave England loads of migraines during his childhood.

It's totally a baby dropbear! I've seen pictures - creepy pictures that'll be in my nightmares for days to come. OTL

Of course, of course. ;P But beware, I flirt occasionally. Kidding, kidding.

Wibble. I really do have to add that into my vocabulary. o7

Oh wow, you did an excellent job on this story :D The imagery in this was really well written, and the characters were spot on; I particularly loved your Prussia, and Germany was just adorable and heart-breaking all at once with his issues over national pride. And Australia was hilarious xD I loved the ending and just how easy-going Australia was the entire time.

So, once again, excellent job! I look forward to seeing more from you ^^

Much thanks! ♥

I'm glad you liked it!

Australia's character kinda scared me at first, actually. I found him incredibly hard to write, despite him being one of my favorite characters. I just decided to go with personal experience to lay a good picture of him. C:
