Slow going

Sep 30, 2009 20:20

Hello you lovely peoples you. I felt like aimlessly chatting in the hopes that it will make me write quicker, or something. That's because work on Vicky's interlude is going very slowly, and I've been trying to peg down why. I've written only 88 slides, which is about 2 pages of my outline, and is only the start of the adventure really.  Last ( Read more... )

That was hysterical. Poor Johnny! I would never have pegged Charles as being that cranky! And of course, there's Larch, being In The Way, chatting up the ladies. So predictable.

Johnny did not have a good time of it, but he shouldn't pick on the wrong sims.

Charles really does live up to his one nice point, much more than most of my other sims with nice point deficiencies.

Yup, I laughed at Larch being there and not leaving.

Larch NEVER leaves. Once he's somewhere there are people, it takes a crowbar to get him out. Just as PB about that one!

Er, ASK PB about that one. Sentences have verbs, yay!

It looks like you've been quite busy.

Don't know who Johnny is, but I loved the look on Larch's face when he got poked and then as he was talking to the lady. I had sort of forgotten about Charles, but he seemed to amuse Larch.

Good luck with the writing. While I was helping Tal write chapter 1, there were times where it's like pulling teeth and we didn't get much done.

Yeah, I've been busy trying to make some progress and hopefully make my way back to the legacy before November.

Johnny used to be very active over at Boolprop (he's still a mod I believe), and wrote a Grave Legacy, which was one of my favourites. Larch is great, but I did have to keep an eye on him and Carmen, because they have bolts, and Carmen likes to prank, and I stopped her from annoying him several times. She's normally such a love too.

There were so many children in that generation, I had to cut back on who I was showing. Charles kinda faded into the background because of that.

Yeah, some days the words don't flow. I've only got a couple of slides done tonight, but I have got a comment or two done at Boolprop, so that's something I suppose.

As always your buildings look beautiful. I love the roof line you have going. It made me miss England again (I spent a summer in Oxford one year).

LOL at Johnny. Some simselves just never learn...

Aww, thank you. I'm getting better at building, but it's taken me a few years to get to this stage. Also, yay they remind you of England. It's nice to hear that I'm succeeding in creating a quintessentially English environment. I've never been to Oxford myself, but I hear it's nice.

Oh Johnny did not learn at all. He really did zero in on the two sims on the lost with only 1 nice point.

Yay you mentioned me! :) And, speaking of, thank you for the comment (will reply soon, but not right now).

And I still seriously admire your building skills, and suspect I always will. I wonder if the lack of building skill needs is one of the reasons I go for apocs?

I also get the writing other sims thing - I'm working slowly on the script for the epilogue to my BC (which, okay, not for a while, but I kind of want it totally written before I start filming it), and it's the first place I'm writing other sims, since I need them for the plot, and it's hard to do.

*hugs* Can't wait for Vicky's interlude, whenever it happens!

That's ok, I loved the interlude.

Thanks, like I say it has taken me a few years to get better at building, but the lots I've made recently have turned out well.

Yeah, in many ways it's fun to write other author's sims, but it is time consuming and nerve-wracking. A BC sounds fun. For Liam?

I'm hoping everyone will like it. It's a fun adventure in my mind anyway.

Thanks!

And, actually, I meant the Apoc epilogue/BC prologue, and yes, it's for Liam. :)

And I'm sure it will be great!

I never pictured Charles as a pokey kind of guy. He's always so cute and sweet and married-to-Angela-y, if that makes any sense at all. But I went back and found the drabble after you'd mentioned it, since I missed it, and it gave me a good laugh. I'm surprised Larch didn't take some vengeance as well.

I definitely feel your pain in regards to writing other people's characters. It's fun, and I love giving them some spotlight where they fit, but the stress of wanting to get them right can be difficult. There are some Sims I adore playing but panic about every time I go to write them (which was a minor issue in writing the BC). Good luck with it, really. I'm looking forward to the interlude in a major way.

Charles is lovely, unless you do something he doesn't like. He is by far the most easily angered off all my sims, and I've caught him poking other sims for next to no reason.

Larch did do a bit of poking, but Charles monopolised Johnny. Glad the drabble made you laugh.

Exactly. I chose some of the guest stars because I had ideas for scenes with them, so those scenes are easier to write, but the others are taking a lot of re-reading and thought. I want to do them justice.
