Busy, busy, busy. It was my grandparents' 60th wedding anniversary last weekend, so I was up north for that. There was a good party, and lots of associated silliness with mass catering and decanting the living room furniture into a marquee in the garden via the window. Then I stayed up talking, drinking, and generally setting the world to rights

Well, I'll attempt to explain my current pet theory about geeks inhabiting an increasingly genderless space (male geeks are considered too "feminine" to meet mainstream culture's ideal of how men should behave, and the women are considered too "masculine", so does this mean they're converging on something between gender roles?), talk about some of the kick ass women to have shown up in cult tv in the last couple of years, then bitch about the fandoms that we don't like.

1) No, youngest sister was driving. However, she may let me drive her car in the near future if we can sort out putting me on the insurance.
2) That is a shame, because I get the feeling you would enjoy it - Battlestar Galactica will feature heavily, and Amy Pond will probably get a mention as well.

Well, I'm across the Channel for the next three weeks, so there's no chance I'll be attending. To which, grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! I'll just sulk over here, don't mind me.
