Busy, busy, busy. It was my grandparents' 60th wedding anniversary last weekend, so I was up north for that. There was a good party, and lots of associated silliness with mass catering and decanting the living room furniture into a marquee in the garden via the window. Then I stayed up talking, drinking, and generally setting the world to rights until 4.30am with a socialist uncle. This may not have been the best plan, considering that we had a 3 hour drive home planned for the next day - which included a bonus car accident, courtesy of some unpleasant road conditions on the desolate Cairn O' Mount road. Luckily, no one was hurt, the only damage to the car was a bit of plastic stuff coming off, and the next person to come over the hill was driving a transit van and had tow ropes which he used to pull the car back on to the road.
And there's the
Feminist Soapbox thing this weekend. I'm helping out with a lot of the organisational stuff, and running a workshop called "Feminism and Geek Culture", which I'm quite looking forward to, even if I haven't got round to putting all of my thoughts down on paper yet.
Then there's work, and that's hardly quiet at the moment. So, there's not a lot of time for LJ, but I'm still reading other people's, because I'm nosy like that.
