03: Rules
It delights Alice to no end to bend the rules he puts down. It’s fun because he can’t do anything to stop her and he can’t make her change her ways. And, anyway, most of his rules are stupid. It’s not as if she writes on the walls, or anything.
So when the rule is, "Don’t bump the rabbit ears for soap operas because it’s a pain to get them back to the angle for PBS," she can’t help herself.
He doesn’t, never has, watch PBS until evening. She watches her soaps in the middle of the day when she doesn’t have appointments. He’s off at work and she’s home alone, so she adjusts the antenna until the TV displays All My Children in as crystal clear a way as it can.
He’ll freak when he gets home, and he’ll fuss and she’ll giggle and they’ll probably wind up having sex on the couch instead of watching, anyway.
