Dale sat down at the Steins’ piano and asked for requests. Janet didn’t bother to hide her surprise.
"You play?"
"It is part of my skill set, yes," Dale replied.
Stacey smiled. "He’s very good."
"Thank you."
"Moon River, darling," she said.
Dale grimaced. "You always ask for that." But he played it anyway.
"Um," Janet whispered. "Skill set?"
"Yes. Don’t you-oh. It’s too early."
"Come again."
"It’s a chip embedded in the back of the neck that gives us basic skills. Getting around in normal society, changing a tire. Playing the piano," Stacey explained. "Things you would normally have to learn."
Janet sulked. "Damn. Wish I had one. Hey, do you know ‘Walking on Broken Glass?’"
