022: Neighbors
Mrs. Cane sat at the window, binoculars in hand, and watched Catharine’s boyfriend ascend the stairs through several windows. She liked Catharine. Her apartment’s rooms had a lot of windows right on the end.
The young man disappeared from her view when he stepped into the hall. She waited, and, soon enough, Catharine went to meet him at the door.
They greeted each other with a long kiss. Mrs. Cane sighed. Then Catharine led her young man into the bedroom-the one room Mrs. Cane had the best view of.
She very innocently, very quietly lost herself in the scene playing out across the street. It was only after several long moments that Catharine noticed the shades were open, and Mrs. Cane had already got an excellent view of the young man’s half-naked body.
She smiled to herself and put the binoculars away.
