THE HOBBIT. OH MY GOD. :D

I am so over Morgana. Like. just. so over. I can't even handle her anymore. :| BUT GWAINE TOTALLY MAKES UP FOR IT.

I really need to start watching Battlestar Galactica. Seriously.

hmmm. I'm still excited about a Being Human remake but I suppose I agree with your basic sentiments in that it doesn't look awful. But ia about no more vampire Mitchell story. It's already prominent enough. But I do like the actor playing George.

Skins remake DNW. :|

THE HOBBIT I KNOW RIGHT?!?!

My head keeps telling me that I'm so done with merlin, but the illogical part of my keeps thinking "MAYBE THEY'LL HAVE HER EASE BACK ON TEH EVIL AND BE FRIENDS WITH MERLIN, ARTHUR AND GWEN AGAIN!!!"

Which obviously will not happen, BUT I STILL HOPE.

I've been enjoying battlestar - not in an OMG THIS IS AMAZING kind of way, but enough where i'll want watch more than one episode at a time. I admit, I was a little turned off by all the religious aspects, but it's toned down a bit or I've just gotten used to it as part of the show's theme idk.

Re: being human: us, I'm holding out my final decision until I see the pilot. Listening the cast helped me kind of separate the show from the original, and I think I'll be able to look at it as a completely separate entity, and hopefully judge it on it's own merits rather than in comparison to the UK version ( ... )

SERIOUSLY.

That's also what I keep saying with Glee, that perhaps the writers will learn how to write but they never do and yet I keep watching. idek. At least there are redeeming parts of Merlin like Gawain's existence.

Ah. Yes. I've been meaning to watch it for ages and one of my friends did warn me about the religious aspect given that I'm a very strong Atheist. She said as long as I keep an open mind, I should be fine, but I do have some reservations.

LOL, basically, but isn't that how most remakes are? We'll give it a shot but I can imagine most reviews missing the original cast. But we'll see I guess!

EEEEE, The Hobbit! RAAARMITAGE! :D I just wish the production could start smoothly and without all this controversy.

I enjoyed Battlestar Galactica, though I never saw it from the beginning. :)

Too bad RA's lovely face will probably be covered up in a million pounds of prosthetics :(

I'm liking battlestar so far, but I'm feeling TONS of fannish love (which I guess is a good thing - i really don't need another fandom lol)

With this cast, the hobbit is starting to look as epic as lotr!

Sitting through the 1 1/2 minute trailer for the US skins travesty was bad enough - I couldn't imagine sitting through an entire HOUR.

Okay Grover as the Old Spice Man is EPIC WIN! I need that in my life so much without knowing it.

I watched BSG before L&O:UK, so I don't mind the American!Jamie vs British!Jamie, but I can see how you might. Enjoy BSG because, shit is awesome.

I consider anytime a brit puts on an american accent SACRILIGE.

But I'm slowly coming to terms with American!Jamie, and am quite enjoying him on bsg. I'm about 3/4 of the way through S1, and so far so good :)

Also, Grover = Old Spice Hunk = 189283019832 kinds of AMAZING. sesame street just keeps banging these chunks of gold out, it's incredible!

I can't wait until you get to 2.08 for some fun Lee. *wink wink nudge nudge*

That number put a smile on my face when most days I can't manage that right now.

SCHOOL, you are on notice!!

But Rrrrarmitage and Aidan are too pretty to be dwarves!!!

*g* Jamie Bamber is pretty regardless! Tho' I admit I do like natural accents rather than put on ones.

Ugh to the no on remakes!

I KNOW! Why cover all the hotness with twenty pounds of fake nose and beard????

And true, Jamie is always pretty - no matter what accent he's speaking with ;)

I admit, the only remake that looks absolute FAIL is the skins one. While I'm not thrilled about being human:us, I'm willing to give it a shot. And this version of shameless, while almost an exact copy of the original, looks extremely well done, so I'll probably watch it just to see if it lives up to my expectations.

Right?! How are people suppose to realise their hotness when they look stumpy and are all axe-wieldery! They would pick up OrlandoBloom-sized mania much better if they were elves. Oh well, hopefully their awesomeness will shine through regardless of fake nose prosthetics and hairy facial disguises!

Jamie was so very cute (and young!) back in the day of Horatio Hornblower with Ioan Gruffudd. All midshipmansy English-accented.

There are some shows that just work better with the small, closed-in, and less polished feel of UK tv. UK TV also tends to be better with pushing comfort boundaries, are more casual with sex and violence (past the watershed).

Don't get me wrong, I still love US tv, and your networks and channels do great with so many other show genres, with sleek production values. (why else would I dedicate GBs of hard drive to them, lol!) And some channels like HBO are certainly not shy with hard hitting and hardcore topics and styles, for sure.

But I know that I'm rarely a fan of remakes.

That said, I realise The ( ... )

Agreed. US tv-standards are still extremely prudish, and when cable DOES do nudity/swearing, it's still very stylized/glam and you take more notice of it, rather than it feeling natural and seemless with the story.

Plus US tv, unless it's a small indie production, just can't pull off that genuinely gritty feel that a lot of UK tv is able to accomplish (maybe b/c production values are much less, idk) - sometimes the more $$ can make the viewer feel more detached and like they really ARE watching a tv show, whereas with UK tv you feel like a genuine voyuer sometimes lol
