We're going to lose the house, and the guinea pigs are going to die.

1) Despite the whole strike debacle going on in NZ, PJ has added more cast to his future-cashcow-prequel, The Hobbit. My interest in this film has increased EXPONENTIALLY because of the following:

2) merlin: MORGANA WHAT THE CRAP????? NOW YOU WANT TO KILL ARTHUR AND GWEN!??! SINCE WHEN??? I GET THAT YOU'RE MAD AT UTHUR, BUT WHERE DID THIS DESIRE TO RULE CAMELOT YOURSELF COME FROM? WHEN DID THAT HAPPEN? AND STOP SMIRKING WHEN YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE WORRIED. ARTHUR IS SITTING RIGHT. ACROSS. FROM. YOU. HE CAN SEE YOU.

I'VE GIVEN UP HOPE AS TO GETTING ANY BACKGROUND INFO AS TO YOUR MOTIVATIONS (OTHER THAN THE "UTHER HATES MAGIC HE MUST BE DESTROYED"), BUT A LITTLE HINT OF WHY YOU'VE DECIDED TO TURN ON ARTHUR AND GWEN WOULD BE NICE (EVEN THOUGH THE WRITERS WOULD JUST HAVE YOU SAY SOME SHIT LIKE "THEY ARE ON UTHER'S SIDE AND SO MUST BE DESTROYED TOO!" *RME*). JUST, UGGGGGHHHHH. I AM FAST LOSING PATIENCE WITH THIS SEASON.

BUT NEXT WEEK GAWAINE!!!

I KNOW A LITTLE BIT OF THIS WILL CHEER ME UP

3) Sesame Street's head writer is really kind of awesome, as evidenced by the ridiculous amount of hilarious/amazing sesame street sketches that have taken pop culture, added it's own twist and then gone viral with it. For example,
Grover's "Smell like a monster" Old Spice Man spoof. My most distinct memory of growing up with sesame street is Smokey Robinson being sexually harassed by a giant U.

4) Over the past couple of weeks I’ve inhaled 4 seasons of monarch of the glen. Archie - the main character - can be kind of a total douche, be he’s just so damn likeable. PLUS, at the end of the first season, this happened [what I'm referring to happens at 6:19, but the scenes before it are great too] and I think it became one of my favorite kisses ever? and I was all o.O UNEXPECTED SHIP YOU ARE SO OBVIOUSLY NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN, so I went and found future clips to prove myself right.... BUT I WAS WRONG!!! By the end of season 3 they became THE couple. I don't even think the SHOW knew that was going to happen. Surprise ships that develop organically are always the best.

And here, have a HILARIOUS and TOTALLY SPOT. ON. French & Saunders parody which actually features the actor who plays Archie, which just makes it all the more amazing. Even if you've never seen the show, it's still fab.

5) I’ve begun watching battlestar gallactica thanks to 1) a friend telling me I had to (and I totally trust this friend’s tv-judgement, and 2) Jamie Bamber. I DON'T KNOW HOW I FEEL ABOUT HIM BEING WITHOUT HIS BRITISH ACCENT. It. Is. WEIRD. It just sounds so high pitched and nasal and not natural and it’s kinda detracting from his hotness and he doesn’t sound like DS Mattie Devlin and it’s taking some getting used to ok??

Also, I kind of ship Apollo/Laura what is wrong with me????

Speaking of Jamie Bamber!....Random tv stuffs:

- L&O:UK's Jamie and Bradley have decided that Ronnie and Matt are going to law school
- Interview with the creator of the upcoming sci-fi drama "Outcasts" (starring Jamie Bamber, spooks' alum Hermoine Norris and ugly betty's Eric Mabius, in which the American character is the asshole LOL OF COURSE.
- Hawaii Five-0 Educational Picspam - EVERYONE SHOULD BE WATCHING THIS.
- If Don Draper had a sassy gay friend
- Eleven and Sarah Jane promo photos from his upcoming appearance on the sarah jane adventures. But omg Katy Manning (aka Jo Grant) looks genuinely frightening, and she isn't meant to be!

US remakes of awesome British shows on a scale of "Better than the original" to "I am going to shoot the creator of this horrible remake and then myself for having sat through it":

1) Syfy's Being Human remake preview and panel. Having watched the panel, seen the interaction between the cast and heard their take on what was happening with the remake (they are all very articulate and insightful, btw) I am slightly more optimistic than I was when it first went into production. The cast seems to get along great and that always translates on screen. However, the cast mentions that they'll be delving even DEEPER in the vampire scene, and I'll admit, I'm not super psyched. Mitchell's storyline was already kind of the focal point of season 1 and I got kind of annoyed by it’s prominance. Let’s hope they flesh out “Josh” and “Sally”’s stories just as much - which it sounds as though they might do.

Rating: Possibly only slightly less awesome than the orignal

2) Showtime’s Shameless trailer - This doesn’t look awful. From the trailer, the pilot looks like a carbon copy of the original (which starred the INCREDIBLE James McAvoy) - but the original has this incredibly raw and in your face feel, and the US version certainly comes off as more polished - HOWEVER, despite the obvious increase in production value, it seems as though the US remake may have nailed it - FINAL OPINION TO BE DETERMINED.

Rating: Possibly on par with the original, but awesome in it's own right.

3) US Skins trailer - This looks like a massive bucket full of fail. THAT GIRL IS SAYING CASSIE’S LINES BUT IS MAKING ME WANT TO PUNCH HER IN THE FACE WHAT IS GOING ON SHE IS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE (AS ARE THEY ALL).

Rating: THIS THING SHOULD NEVER SEE THE LIGHT OF DAY AND IT'S PRODUCER SHOULD BE BANNED FROM TELEVISION.

l&o:uk: not in mattie's mattress, contrived ass storylines, ughhhh, complete awesome, being human: so who wants tea?, james mcavoy: scottish vacuum of charm, movies, doctor who: madman with a box, mad men: sex cigs and sales in the 60s, stupid unimaginative american bastards, spooks: its always the russians, ahahaha, brit tv is so fandom friendly, actor lust, skins: those crazy kids!, merlin: idk my bff arthur?, cracktastic, hawaii five-0: book 'em danno, otp awesomeness, sherlock: high-functioning sociopath, cast crossovers!, raaaarmitage
