I had an LJ friend -- we were friends on here for several years, way back in the day. She was in the process of leaving an abusive situation and went to radio silence. I never knew if she got out safe and found a new life or if she was one of the many "statistics" in Canada that year...

*nod* It's hard not knowing. I kind of hope someone on here sees this and can give me or get me to an update somehow.

I just never expected it to hit me the way it did, though I don't know why not. There was no clue anything had gotten nearly that bad, so there was no time to say "here's my info, let me know you're okay" before the spouse took over and it all went away.

I never knew her "regular" name -- which is the case for about half of my flist, I would say -- for many of the others, I do know their real first name, but not their full name. And then there are some where I know full digits and mailing addresses, others that have friended me on the book of face, which is a whole different relationship, because the book of face does not get a whisper of LJness -- that is where we talk TO our family, LJ is where we talk ABOUT our family!

If it makes you feel better from what I understand that person is back online in other arenas so it would seem they are doing better. I also have not heard from them, but have heard from others about them...so take that for what you will.

I'm so sorry it all affected you so deeply, if there's anything you need just let me know. <3

Thank you. I'm glad to know they made it through. If I see them around, I will...if I don't, then at least I know that much.

I've had this post open for a couple of days trying to think of something insightful to comment with... and I've got nothing.

I do often wonder what others think of my stuff when I do post. The... one time a year I actually post something that isn't filtered out.
