Ahh, work. frozen_feathers August 4 2009, 05:05:06 UTC
The bell hanging over the shop's door jingled as Siren stepped through it, clad in her uniform and soaking wet. The wind still howled loudly as she quickly closed it. After taking a quick glance out the window at the mess outside, she carelessly sloshed through the flooding to behind the counter, obviously oblivious to her unsightly, soaking-wet clothes.

"Good evening, Venn." She smiled lightly and began brewing a large batch of one of their bolder coffees in anticipation of a busy night.

"Hey there," he waved back! As much as Venn was always respectful to women, though, seeing Siren in clingy, soaked clothes was rather distracting!

He tried to keep his mind off it.

"Oh, I see you traveled in your original pokemon form to spare your clothing. Perhaps that would have been a wise idea."

She looked down at her accursed human clothes, totally drenched, and flailed her hand a bit in an effort to fling the water off it. He clothes would take hours to dry, but there was no dryer nearby, nor a clothesline indoors, nor a hair dryer, nor anything else she could possibly use to expedite the drying process, so she shrugged it off and checked on the pastry display.

He gave a nervous chuckle. "Well... I kinda did it because I didn't want to step on pneumonia-ridden water, but it came with a bonus!"

He felt bad and wanted to get her something dry. Should he run off and get something? Maybe there's extra uniforms somewhere upstairs in the corperate building?

But she had guts to still work, where as he was actually... not doing anything! Kind of embarassing!

The next person to open the door (with a fair bit of effort, due to the water in the way) was the ironically named FLUDD, completely soaked and dripping from head to toe, in time to be horrified at the floodwater mucking up everything below the knees of his spotless cafe floor.

But right now, for once, he was not in the mood to grab a bucket and start bailing. He looked very much like a person who lived in mud and hadn't been bathed, ever, and he trudged through the water like it was molasses. When he got to the counter, he spat or coughed water into his dirty sleeve, and said "drain cleaner".

Siren stared blankly at her first customer for a moment.

"I'm sorry, what did you say you wanted? Is that a kind of espresso?" she asked naively.

"Drain cleaner," he sputtered. "A fluid for cleaning pipes. I have had a very bad week."

She blinked and walked back to the storage room. What an odd request, she thought to herself. Still, anything to please a customer.

She emerged from the room awkwardly carrying what appeared to be a heavy jug of drain cleaner. Slipping a bit on the wet floor, she hauled it over to the counter and clunked it down.

"What size would you like that ... drain cleaner ... sir? Tall, Grande, or Vente?"

Manaphy would be insane enough!

He was swimming around in the flood waters and certainly wound up enjoying himself. The nearby cafe looked like a nice place to puddle around, especially since the floor inside was flooded, so now he decided to pop on by.

When he went inside, he noticed the people inside and waved. "Mana mana, phiiii!"

Venn waved back while still sitting on the front counter. "Hello there, little manaphy!"

Manaphy splashed around and got a bit closer to the counter. He pulled himself up a little to reach his arm over and pointed into the back, as if saying he wanted something to drink. "Phi phiiii?"

As a Pokemon, Venn understood the little pokemon clearly. He rolled up his pantlegs and leapt over to the mixer in the back to prepare a hot cocoabean, which he put down in front of her... or him... or it. whatever this Pokemon is genderwise!

While not insane, it seems that Kumatora was called in early so she can actually be around to serve coffee the following day. At least today she could lose the dress, since nobody cared enough about the dress code to bother with it.

"Why? Just...why?" she murmured to herself as she floats about the cafe on a table with a Mr. Saturn motif.

Someone sure came early, but perhaps he could use all the help he could get.

since like... people are actually coming!

"You're here early, Kumatora!"

Kirby hopped over into the cafe and sat down beside Shadow. He ordered himself... actually nothing, as about 5 or 10 minutes ago he had downed Shadow's entire fridgestock!

"Poyo... if you want, I'll pay for that," said Kirby, still a little embarrassed about his actions earlier.
