The subject heading not withstanding, the first few days here were pleasant. Dad has behaved himself, got to meet up with old friends, and I got loads of Christmas goodies

Yeah, that's an issue with us as well and it's why Mike has stopped going over to his brother's in-laws for Christmas - they don't bother providing any food that he can actually eat. He was stunned to see that my family did make sure we had food he could eat without being asked, or that I will do the same thing, and we didn't single him out because of his eating.

I think staying home is an excellent idea. I think the first few years once Mike gets here, we will go see the family, but when future baby Heaton gets here, they'll need to start coming to us!
