Of course it sounds like it might be serious -- when I do the telling. I have a history of overdramatizing my minor aches.

Me, too. Justin got me this great Wheel of Hypochondria, where you point the arrow at any minor symptom, and it gives you the worst-case scenario (as well as what it most likely is).

I should have one of those, but no matter where the arrow would land, it would point to "cancer."

Hey, at least you know "puce" is in the red bit of the spectrum, not the "chartreuse" family as 97% of the rest of humanity (straight or gay, colonian or post-, pink or brown) mistakenly believes! And on the whole, I think puce is a marginally less shocking color for the usually no-coloured bits of the eye to be than chartreuse (which would seem to imply optical gangrene, or something similarly dreadful).
