[at first glance, the Allen wandering down the hall in the east wing this evening is like any other Allen. or at least, it's probably easier to keep the image in mind of it being an entirely normal Allen if you only spot him from behind. if you manage to catch a glimpse from the side or from in front of him, however... the scene changes rather

Allen?

whether the bb!vamp had been stealthy about his trailing or not, Allen hadn't noticed him until now. hi, double.]

Reaching a hand out to him.] Are you alright?
Reply
of course, it doesn't mean he's not tense, but he doesn't duck away from the gesture, instead attempting to offer something of a reassuring smile... and failing quite miserably.] I'm... yeah. I'm alright. [it's not a total lie. physically speaking, he seemed to be completely fine. just... not the rest of him, at all, really. there's still underlying panic drifting in and out of the back of his mind leftover from after he woke up, and lets face it... dying could do a number on someone.]

The vampire takes a few steps toward him and sets a hand on his arm, he knows Allen is fine physically after his trailing. But he can't help but be worried. He shakes his head.] No, something is still off. What happened?
[Forget about the question though, for a moment, hugging you to really make sure you're fine. Or it could just be instinctual comforting.]

I-I'm... I'm fine. Don't worry, I'm really..

I don't know if brother told you, but we can hear a lie. [His voice softens reproachfully.] Please?

I know. He... reminds me of that one a lot. [he meets the other vampires gaze for a few seconds before looking away again.]
...I died.
Reply
Giving him a very gentle hug, nosing at his double's temple in sympathy.]
I'm sorry. It's not...a very pleasant experience...
Reply
he doesn't return the hug, but he does sort of lean against the bb!vamp a little, which is close enough really.]
Damn Akuma... the thing cornered me. Who even does that anymore..?
Reply
An Akuma cornered you? [Frowning.] It must have been desperate or something.
Reply
I don't know why, it just... [but he trails off. damn it. he's not going to lose it like this. he'd made it all the way from the bloodstained hall halfway back into the center of the Dressing Room without doing that.]

It's gone now. And if it comes back, I'll take care of it. [Have a rather protective tone. He's more than determined to protect his friend. Even if he's kind of powerless against the Akuma. He can keep it distracted while the hobo gets help from those that have Innocence.]
Reply
You don't have innocence. It would be better to just leave it to-- [he cuts off though, gritting his teeth. Lavi. Lavi had said he'd be on Akuma watch near his room, hadn't he? but no, this wasn't his fault. it had happened the same damn day he'd said that, and he had training practice with a Kanda, and--
--damn it, damn it, damn it, damn it--]

I can hold my own against it long enough for help to arrive. [Not going to dissuade him from that.
Allen tightens his supportive hug just a little, sensing something is going on with his double's thoughts. Hey, don't fall back in the memories. The present is better than that.]

[he's trying not to, more than is really obvious, but it's hard. Allen has never had a problem with the idea of dying. but that was when he thought he was slated to die with the rest of his godforsaken world, half a year from when he'd been brought to the DR. he'd accepted and come to terms with that death, his inevitable future in a world where he was utterly alone, but this was... he was only just starting to figure out that he wasn't alone, and this was such a sick joke.
it was so unfair, and he couldn't honestly figure out why just being alive now wasn't enough for him.]
