[at first glance, the Allen wandering down the hall in the east wing this evening is like any other Allen. or at least, it's probably easier to keep the image in mind of it being an entirely normal Allen if you only spot him from behind. if you manage to catch a glimpse from the side or from in front of him, however... the scene changes rather

[A worried double is trailing after you, head tilted to the side as he listens. Then he moves stopping in front of his friend.]

Or I might not. [He has several reasons waiting for him to not get killed. At most he'd just jump around and confuse the hell out of it.

It'll take a while longer than before to get that feeling back, to remember that he's not alone, but it can come back. Just invest in the friendships you already have and build from there, it's not necessarily the numbers being large, but the warmth and companionship that comes from those still by your side. Should already know the vampires will stand by his side through thick and thin.

Almost reading his mind with this.] Rhode told me to find something or someone to hold on to. It makes the years better, saner, keeps you grounded... [Nosing at his temple again.]

[that's the weird part. without realizing it he'd started getting that feeling from people in the dressing room, that odd warmth, and at some point he'd really started smiling. and then he'd died, and at the time it felt so final, like he was losing everything-- it hadn't been permanent, obviously, but the feeling was still there and he didn't know how to get rid of it when it shouldn't have even been there at all anymore.]

I never needed something like that before.

[Nothing in this place seems to be final. A forever continuing lesson for all of them to take. But those lost feelings won't stay either, they're not final unless Allen closes himself off. And even if he does, this little vampire will be making damn sure to hunt him down.]

Hardly anyone does, but it helps when you've been kicked down so hard you're no longer you anymore. Just...rest, Allen. It'll help, even if you don't sleep.

[you're such a good friend to him, bb!vamp. ♥ but who knows, once he gets over this - provided that he does, in fact, not end up closing himself off - it might actually turn into a good thing, emotionally speaking. make him realize the things he'd either been taking for granted or ignoring entirely up until now.]

[quite possibly! that'd be the best case scenario, at least. worst case, he becomes a hermit up in the North Wing. and then there are a million shades of gray in between.]

It shouldn't be too far. ...another five hallways down, maybe. [leaning into that slightly. but honestly, he'd been wandering around for awhile. hadn't been paying attention while trying to outrun the Akuma, nope.]

[in all honesty, he was a little sad to see the orange shirt wrecked. he'd been trying to prove a point with it - though if you'd ask him he wouldn't be able to properly explain just what that point was - and now it sort of... didn't seem to count.]

[Perhaps the DR will be nice and gift him another one in his closet as soon as that one is burned. It's a bright color, bright at least to the vampire.]

[that would be awfully nice of it. and considering how often the place seems to dislike him, maybe it actually owes him that much. he's a little reluctant to pull away from the embrace, but he does so when his double does, instead moving to rub the back of his head lightly.]

...it's this way, I think. [aaand starting off down the hall again. though, he won't wander very far from Allenpire at all, maybe just a few feet.]

[It needs to be nice to you, yes, especially after dealing with the calmness of death. And he doesn't mind supporting his double as they walk, even if he doesn't physically need it. And no worries about going too far, if he looks, he'll find his friend right by his side.]
