[Clara is sitting out in a courtyard, sitting by a lake. Her shoes are off and she's dangling her legs over the side, her feet skimming the water. A piece of paper is clenched in her fist, held close to her chest. She'd just found her letter from her parents, which has lead to depression over losing them all over again.]

Clara? [She steps over and stands just behind her.] What's the matter?

Oh- Hello Tessa! Nothing's the matter, I'm fine. It's a nice day, isn't it? Normally it gets cold around this time, but it's really warm today. I might even go for a swim later, heh.

[techblades]

Are you sure you're alright? [She sits down beside her, and cleans her glasses.]

Of course I am, I just... [Clenches the letter tight] My parents left, is all.

[Aren jumps into the lake and splashes around, until he notices her sitting further down on the bank. He swims over and sits in the water.]

You alright? [funny how he doesn't have a reflection in the water, even if she does]

[Looking up when she hears he splashing, and smiling at him] Hello Aren. I'm fine! Is the water nice? I was thinking I might go for a swim later.

[nods cheerfully] It's not too cold but not too warm! It's perfect! [curls his arms around his knees, smile fading for a moment, but he doesn't know what to ask, so he just kind of tilts his head and looks at her with his derpcute large eyes.]

Ah, that sounds good. [Blink blink, what is this staring for, th-those eyes... WEAKNESS] Aren?
