The Last Words Meme

HOW IT WORKS
1 - Go to the RNG and roll for both your cause of death and time left, then start a thread with it! Alternatively, skip the RNG and make up your own death.

2 - Reply to other people's comment. Either roll the RNG for a relationship type with them, or go with your own CR. You can also be dying along beside them, or a ( Read more... )

[She'd gotten lost. Really, really fucking lost. The last 'landmark' she'd seen had been a collection of wine barrels days ago, and they only counted as landmarks because she'd passed them twice trying to find her way back. Lenalee still doesn't quite know where she is, just that it's dark and dank (or is that her?) and she's on the ground. Something smells like mold, but then again... that could be her, too. She hasn't had any food or drink in-- well, she doesn't remember the exact number of days since she ended up down here anymore, just that it's been too long and now--]

[Well, now she's dying, isn't she?]

[Alone in some cellar. It's a barely noteworthy movement as her fingernails scrape over grout in the tile floor, brittle like her throat when she swallows.]

[Apparently the hallways still have the habit of switching up. Normally it only gets Kanda lost of a couple hours when he wanders far from his usual area. So far, this wasn't any exception.

He opens the door to the cellar, peeking down into it.]

[Lenalee's deep enough into the vestiges of the winding halls (should cellars really have halls at all?) that she isn't even close to visible. And as loud and echoing as the door grating over tile is, in her current state, she barely hears it. It takes her a long moment before she can place the grind as possibly another person, and even longer to think of perhaps mustering the willpower to call for their attention. Everything hurts, even taking a breath.]

[Through a gargantuan effort, Lenalee takes one anyway-- burning, raw-- and...]

Nngh--

[...lets it all out again in the form of a wracking cough. Hope your hearing is good, Kanda, because that's all you get.]

[Luckily for her, Kanda's peeking in quietly, and just as he's about to go he hears just the faintest sound. A pause.]

... Hello? [Glances around, putting a hand on the hilt of his sword before heading down into the cellar.]

[There had been relatively few times in her extremely long life when she'd thought seriously about her death. Perhaps she would fail in battle against the Heart's user again, and it would be her final curtain fall, never to rise again. Perhaps the 14th would get the victory she so wanted so badly, stabbing her in the back and smiling down at her eerily until the life bled out of her.

What she did not expect was this.

Who had left a toy car at the top of the tallest staircase in the Dressing Room? At a place where one really would not wish to have one's foot unexpectedly sweep out from under them?

It would be funny, really, if she weren't dying from it. Maybe, after all this time, the play had turned out to be a farce.]

... I am so sorry for this. accedoletum June 4 2011, 02:46:11 UTC
[Still fairly new to this place, he felt like he had to explore the area more to get a feel for it. And while he was expecting to run into the family some point during his "adventure", he didn't expect to run into The Earl. Who fell down the stairs and was now... Dying?

He wasn't sure whether or not he should have approached her. After much debating, he ended up walking toward her anyway.]

That was quite the fall, brother. [No he doesn't know that you're a female yet. Sorry Countess!]

No need to be sorry! countess_hearts June 4 2011, 11:45:56 UTC
[That added insult to fatal injury, it really did. Mistaken for a man...

She suppresses a groan, and moves to try to sit up. But, it's just no good, as her strength is failing and her current form is inconveniently round.]

Sister. ♥ It was indeed. Were you watching, Fourteenth? Perhaps you set this trap and lay in wait. ♥

[Although the Fourteenth must have gone down in the world, to be leaving a toy car as his weapon of choice, so she rather hopes not. It would be such an embarrassment.]

[Sister? Wait-- This must have been the Countess that Wisely had mentioned before -- GRK. He was right, they all look the same!]

Hardly, Sister. This idea was far too creative.

[Really? A Toy Car? Who in the world would use a toy to kill The Countess? ... Although it was working. Much to the 14th's surprise. He couldn't help but feel a tad bit sorry for her. This death was just... too laughable.]

Would you like some help up? [Not going to mention her round form. Nope. He doesn't want to die before The Countess dies.]

3 + ...2. And that's not at all practical. I'll make it 3 + 1 stitched_akuma June 3 2011, 13:42:13 UTC
[After staggering from the blow, she falls back, landing heavily on the ground. Blood is everywhere. On the tiles, on her clothes...and all over her anti-Akuma claw, the glove over which is now dyed a bright red. It doesn't look as if it could ever have been white.

With the huge, deep gash running down her torso, showing ugly things like internal organs and pieces of metal Akuma components, there isn't really any way she can move much any more. She rests her head back against the cold tiles, giving a small, dizzy smile, and murmurs something to herself.]

Aaah. I missed. But it won't...be long.

[Julia will hear footsteps behind her and the rustling of fabric as Lavi crouches down behind her. He reaches to pull her up against him a little, mindful of the stomach wound as he does so]

Sorry I'm late.

Lavi?

[She blinks a few times to clear her vision, and looks up, talking slowly.]

You're...not late. Are you sure you want to see this?

[Of course he was late. She was lying on the floor, broken and bleeding, and he hadn't been there. But he wouldn't argue the point. It seemed a trivial thing to argue considering the current situation. So he just leans over her with his normal smile. The smile he had whenever they set out on their usual patrol]

This isn't something you should have to go through alone, Julia. You've done that enough in your life.

[Poison in his tea. A trap set up to spray crossbow bolts at him the instant he opened the door to his room. Nails and banana skins scattered on the floor. A hungry tiger left prowling around the corridor outside. A swarm of enraged hornets which had somehow been trained to follow the cleanly scent of Cyrils.

It's lucky that he didn't put his slippers on this morning, because someone had left stonefish in there. And lucky that the axe set up to swing down from the ceiling had missed. If those had got him, he wouldn't have been able to make it to the clinic at all, even if it is, as the doctors reluctantly told him...only going to make a few days worth of difference. No doubt about it: someone truly wanted him dead. And they were going to get their wish.

Now, if only he could get the culprit before it became too late...but doing so from a hospital bed, covered in bandages and feeling at death's door, it might not be an easy task.]

Road's crying and I haven't seen Tricia out of your room since the day you were admitted in here, irmão.

[Looking more at the bed linen than at the man before him, Tyki is sitting slack in a chair next to Sheryl's bed. And despite the no smoking signs pasted all over the hospital hallways outside, he has a cigarette dangling out of his mouth. As he finishes that one, he can be seen reaching for another in his pocket. The doctor has spoken to him before coming in. He knows.]

[Most of his face isn't bandaged up, so his expression is visible. And it's very sulky indeed. But he does look a fraction more cheerful at seeing Tyki, despite the smell of the cigarette smoke. Today he's not going to complain about it, though.]

It's a wonder Tricia didn't get hurt too. Or Road. That would have been simply awful. Although it already is. [He takes a deep breath.] Tyki, I want you to avenge my death! Preferably before it happens.

This prompt... is harder than I thought. Hahaha. unicorn_knight June 7 2011, 01:38:09 UTC
Glad to see you are as demanding as always... [Tyki rubbed a hand on one side of his face with weariness. If he left his hand there and tilted his head at an angle, he could almost ignore the fact that his brother was wrapped up like an Egyptian mummy. And if he focused his gaze at a spot on the pillow next to Sheryl's ear, he could almost forget the man's sickly pallor.]

It seems the man was a professional hired specifically for you, irmão. Informants tell me that he's been seen fleeing to the borders this morning.[Not that the head start will allow him to escape from a Noah's wrath.] Do you have preferred method of murder? Shall I drag him back screaming for you or break him into pieces on my own and dispose the body somewhere obscure?

Initially 1 + 1 but then that doesn't really work with her soo 2 +1 cengjingfeiguo June 3 2011, 18:29:46 UTC
[ she honestly didn't think that this could happen. She had been blindsided, she had fought blindly, and then - then the Innocence screamed. Soon, she couldn't even stand up anymore as her body began to fall apart.

Now, she's just propped up against the wall, rasping her last breaths as the cracks continue to spread across her cheeks. ]

...it was just a matter of time, I suppose.

[Sitting across from her and reaching to brush his fingertips against one of the those cracks. He can't help himself from staring. Human skin wasn't supposed to do that as far as he knew]

Lenalee?

[ ...no. No, no, no. Don't look at me, she wants to say, cry, but she doesn't have the energy to cry anymore. Weakly, she leans away from his fingers and closes her eyes before finally, tilting her head up and smiling blearily at him, causing a few more thin, splintered cracks to branch out from the rest. Even if she was dying, she could at least be brave until the end. ]

Hello, Lavi.

[Gently places his hands against both of her cheeks, scooting a little closer to her. He's worried, so very worried about what this all means. And he trying to pretend that nothing is wrong only heightens that worry]

What's happening?
