A boy wanders in with a husky-esque puppy at his heels. He (the boy) is just over average in height and he has a hereditarily thin build, though he does at least manage to look healthy. Something else he's inherited is the red hair, though it's a far more natural shade than his father's, and his eyes are a sort of pale charcoal at the moment,

No middle name, no last name, no other names at all and nothing particularly frightening or, apparently, easily frightened. *and watch as the puppy barks and gets down low with his butt in the air and his hold rear-end wagging with his tail*

Mine learned all of her bad habits from me, too! Although, it usually involves racing around the room like a maniac and jumping on people, but at least she's easier to train than me. Well, not easier to house-train, because I'd also hope that I learned that already-- um. Hi! I'm Tristan my-dog-doesn't-know-my-middle-names-either Pendergast.

You and Xenocrates should probably meet, although I think we should be a little afraid of what havoc you can wreak on the community together, since she's also a little ball of energy when around new people. And you'd probably teach her a few bad habits, which she really doesn't need to learn, because she's horrible enough as it is, even though I still adore her. *--yes, that was entirely to the puppy, shh*

*Lucas finds this way too amusing -- Joth finds it awesome because ATTENTION! and someone with ENERGY! and the puppy is wiggling and bouncing and being grabbed by the tail to stand him back up as he gets ready to squat* You peed before we came in, kid. Don't do that. *that is obviously to the dog, too*

Atarah considers both the boy and the puppy for a moment, her rabbit (as always) cradled in her arms. Without speaking, she offers the rabbit to Lucas and leans down to pet the dog.

Lucas takes the rabbit, watching the girl with Joth, who is as excited as expected but seems to calm down just the slightest bit when the person greeting him doesn't speak. After a moment, Lucas carefully holds up the rabbit, looking it in the face with an ever so serious expression and a conversational, "And what's your name?"

"Oh, he doesn't know." Atarah ruffles the puppy's ears and watches it for signs of urination, then stands up. "He doesn't talk, either."

Joth continues to wag his tail, bouncing just a bit, and Lucas simply shrugs, petting the rabbit. "Funnily enough, neither does Joth, but it never hurts to try. How about you? You happen to have a name?"

Animals as a whole tend to be way more interesting than their owners. I'm sure Gemma could hold a conversation much better than I could -- though I don't think she could give better sex, but I really don't want to think about that, ew. Anyway. *grins!* Ky Hades, pleasure to meet both you and Joth.

Mm. Pet sex. Now there's a conversation starter. If you were my half-brother, I'd almost think you were trying to make me go away. *Joth is going to make a circle around Ky, sniffing at his ankles*

*Joth is totally loving this attention! and he'll sniff at the hand with his butt wiggling all over -- as for his owner, Lucas will shrug and give a kind of amused smile* Yeah, he could probably care less as long as you're going to play with him. He just flirts with everyone and never calls anyone back, the scamp.

*all but squees, and Joth will now get earscritches -- and she'll look amused, then* What a little tease. Though I suppose when you're that cute, you can get away with anything.
