Talking Heads and Prince definitely, the B-52s are an edge case - Fred is the lead singer, but both of Cindy and Kate sing backing - but they also play a lot of the instruments.

But yes, that is hard. I'm curious to see what other people recall.

I know of a couple groups that have female bassists and drummers. One of the openers for Flogging Molly this spring, MoneyBrother, had a lady bassist. (Flogging Molly, for that matter, has Bridget on violin and whistles, with Dave and the other guys singing and playing other instruments.) Lenny Kravitz worked with a woman drummer. The Decemberists have six or seven members, all of whom sing, but only one guy I would call the lead. The two women of the group play a wide range of instruments.

I could probably dredge up a few more for you, with some more time.

Smashing Pumkins comes to mind. Sonic Youth might count, but Kim Gordon sang on a number of tracks. Pretty sure The Pixies had a female bass player. A quick search revealed White Zombie and A Perfect Circle had female bass players at some point as well.

Kim Deal played bass for the Pixies.

Motley Crue had a female drummer on tour for a while to replace an ill Randy Castillo (Castillo eventually died from cancer.)

Coal Chamber had a female bassist.

Wikipedia would have to help with anything more. :)
