This is an interesting comparison for me, because more often than not, when Pyr publishes the US release of a book that's already been published overseas, the covers are very, very similar. Not always, but often. But not in this case ( Read more... )

He he. UK, because, like you, I'm, "Oh gee, another dragon book." But the UK just has this lovely, threatening "doom doom doom" look. I'm all about doom. And it LOOKS like a storm, like the title, which makes more sense than a dragon. And, oddly enough, I just saw the trade in B&N today and had to look who the publisher was 'cause I didn't recognize the cover style.

Great points about the UK!

And I agree about the US. Even I know who the publisher is, but every time I see it, I don't "recognize" the cover art, if that makes sense. It looks more like something Subterranean would publish, or Baen's Universe.

I said "neither." One is a generic dragon cover and the other has way too much empty space (the clouds are pretty, but not that interesting). Neither suggests story elements that I'm going to be interested in.
