THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED!!! FOR A LIST OF WINNERS, PLEASE GO
HERE!
First, I brought you the
serious post, in which I discuss Pyr books in general. Then, I brought you the
fun post, in which I created a set of superlatives for the 2007 Pyr releases I'd read.
And now, finally, the big final EVENT I've been promising for the Pyr Trifecta? Are you ready? Are you sure?
If you're a book hog like I am, you hear about all these great books and write them down for later. Depending on your system (I have a private wish list on Amazon just for book considerations), you may or may not forget about some title that really caught your eye, so there's a chance you might never get the chance to check it out.
My previous two posts, not sponsored by Pyr, have taken the time to discuss Pyr titles in all seriousness and silliness. I wanted to give you a glimpse into the stuff I've been reading this year, but most important, I wanted to whet your appetite.
Why? Because this big EVENT I've been babbling about is a PYR BOOK GIVEAWAY!!
Which book? That's for you to decide.
Here's how it works:
The poll below lists every single PYR book I've read since joining the Street Team. Most of these titles are 2007 releases. In addition to said titles, I've provided the Amazon.com link for general summaries. If you want to read my specific reviews of these books, just go
here. The point is to pick the ONE book that interests YOU most as a reader.
Here's what you do:
Email me at EMAIL ADDY REMOVED with the following:
1) Your choice of book (put it in the subject header).***
2) Your real name, obviously. ;)
3) Your full mailing address (that's snail mail, folks!)
4) Where you heard about this giveaway (if you've got a blog or an LJ, shoot me a link!)
Once I get your email, I'll respond with a confirmation, so you know I got your entry.
If for WHATEVER REASON you have trouble with the email, or you don't hear back from me, just comment to this post with the above info and you'll be entered in the contest. ALL COMMENTS ARE SCREENED.
You have through December 12th to enter. On the December 13th, I'll put all the names in a hat (or something) and select TWO people. Those two people will receive their book choice compliments of Pyr books, who graciously decided to donate titles when I came to them with this idea.
Free books. What's not to love?
Rules:
1) Giveaway is limited to those living in North America.
2) One entry per person. Multiple entries will be deleted.
3) This does NOT mean one entry per household. I don't want to tear families apart arguing which book to put in for! ;)
***Please note, this giveaway is ONLY for Pyr books I've already read. So if you're interested in, say, Sean Williams's The Hanging Mountains, but just can't bring yourself to read the books out of order, just say so! I'll make sure you get the first book in the series instead (or which ever number you need)! :)
Please feel free to promote this giveaway in your journals/blogs/websites. The more the merrier, and if goes well, I might try something like this again in the future!
PLEASE NOTE!!! Voting in the poll is JUST for fun, but it does not automatically enter you in the contest, so don't forget to email me your info! :)
Poll Pick a Pyr, Any Pyr... And just so those three non-2007 titles are NOT at a disadvantage, here's the scoop:
Justina Robson's
Mappa Mundi was one of my absolute FAVORITE reads of 2006. It's a book I'd happily read again, and the writing, characters, and plotting is just fantastic.
David Louis Edelman's
Infoquake centers on one of the most unique science fictional settings I've seen: the boardroom. Trust me when I say, it's really, really cool.
Joel Shepherd's
Crossover doesn't need much intro, because I've babbled on and on about the sequels Breakaway and Killswitch, so all you need to know about this is that it has the same kind of goodness, and it starts off the trilogy with a bang.
GOOD LUCK!!!
